This job took us up the EWP to safely access the overhead supply and get the property reconnected to the network.

Our Level 2 team handled the work from the ground right through to the connection point, making sure everything was completed safely and ready to go.

It’s the kind of electrical work you don’t always see, but it’s what keeps homes powered and connected.

Need a Level 2 electrician for a reconnection or overhead electrical work? Give Fraser Electrical a call and we’ll take care of it. ⚡

⚡️ Full Consumer Mains & Switchboard Upgrade ⚡️

On this job, we’re disconnecting and replacing the old consumer mains, installing a new switchboard and upgrading the outdated ceramic barge fuses.

We highly recommend replacing old 6mm consumer mains with modern 16mm mains where appropriate.

To put it into perspective, 6mm cable is commonly used today for a single appliance such as a cooktop—yet in many older homes, it’s still supplying the entire property.

With modern homes using more power than ever for air conditioning, induction cooktops, EV chargers and other appliances, upgrading your consumer mains helps improve safety, reliability and future capacity.

Still have old 6mm consumer mains or ceramic fuses? Contact Fraser Electrical to have them assessed.

⚡️ Switchboard Upgrade – Wallsend ⚡️

This customer called us to upgrade his outdated switchboard. Being an electrician himself, he understood the risks associated with the old ceramic protection and undersized 6mm consumer mains.

When we arrived to complete the work, we discovered a badly burnt ceramic barge fuse on one of the phases—a failure that could have resulted in loss of supply or a serious fire hazard.

This is exactly why upgrading old ceramic barge fuses to modern protection is so important. Electrical equipment doesn’t need to completely fail before it becomes dangerous.

The switchboard and consumer mains have now been upgraded, giving the property safer, more reliable protection for years to come.

If your property still has ceramic fuses or an outdated switchboard, give Fraser Electrical a call for an inspection.

Power disconnected? Getting it safely reconnected takes more than just flipping a switch.

When a property needs to be reconnected to the network, there’s a lot happening above ground literally.

For this job, our Level 2 team used an EWP to safely access the overhead connection, allowing the work to be carried out at height with the right equipment and procedures.

From accessing the network connection to getting the property powered back up, every step needs to be handled carefully and correctly.
