Hiring a Shade Installer | Join Weathersafe Shades

Are you looking for a stable role?

Weathersafe is a leading company in the Shade Structure Industry in South Australia, specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of shade structures.

Based in Welland, we take pride in our craftsmanship and are looking for a motivated person to join our installing field team.

As an Installer, you will be working outdoors across South Australia to bring our high-quality designs to life.

Your day-to-day will involve the physical installation of shade sails, steel structures, and weather protection systems at schools, parks, and commercial sites. Working closely with your crew, you’ll be responsible for everything from site preparation and manual handling to safely operating tools at heights to ensure every structure is built to our industry-leading standards. Training will be provided.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our installation team. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Team-player attitude.
• A current White Card.
• Competence and confidence using ladders and working at heights (a High-Risk License is desirable).
• Physical fitness, as required by the nature of the work.
• A valid driver’s license
• Willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check (Weathersafe will assist in obtaining these clearances).

Location: Welland, SA.

Daily Operations: Once at the warehouse, you will head out to project sites in a company vehicle. This is a Monday to Friday role.

Applicants must have reliable transport to travel to our warehouse in Welland, SA.

Weathersafe will provide on-the-job training and support, as well as the tools and a work vehicle required for daily tasks.

How is everyone coping with the heat today? ☀️

The Wakefield Regional Council was well prepared for the warmer months, with the great idea of adding more permanent shade at the Balaklava Pool—right when it’s needed most.

Weathersafe recently installed three 4m x 4m permanent umbrellas, complementing the existing shade structures already in place. Perfectly timed for pool users to enjoy some relief during this heatwave.

One of our latest project: Jack Watkins Reserve, where Weathersafe helped bring new life to this much-loved community space in partnership with LCS Landscapes.

Our team engineered, and installed two new shade structures that make the reserve more inviting — whether it’s families at the playground, people keeping active on the fitness equipment, or locals relaxing in the shade.

This project is part of the reserve’s major redevelopment, which includes new play areas, basketball courts, and a pump track — a fantastic upgrade for the Kilburn community.

A huge thank you to LCS Landscapes for a great collaboration, and to the City of Port Adelaide Enfield for continuing to trust Weathersafe to deliver high-quality shade solutions across the region.

Bright shade sails installed at Clayton Bay Reserve.

To enhance sun protection over the playground, Alexandrina Council engaged Weathersafe Shades through a competitive tender to design and construct a compliant, visually appealing shade structure.

Using Monotec Shade Cloths by Pro-Knit Industries in Lime Fizz and Bundena, the result is both functional and vibrant.

Weathersafe managed every stage of delivery, including:
• Design development
• Development approval
• DBYD services search and site works
• Full engineering and safety compliance

The upgraded playground now offers long-lasting UV protection for local families to enjoy year-round.

To support spectator comfort and improve the event experience, Steel City Drag Club in Whyalla engaged Weathersafe to deliver new shade covers along the race lanes.

Spanning 77 metres, the custom installation of the membrane was designed to integrate with the club’s existing steel subframe and enhance both the functionality and visual appeal of the venue.

Weathersafe managed the full scope of manufacturing and installation of the custom sails, helping the club create a more welcoming, polished environment for participants and motorsports fans.

Hawker Area School – New Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA)

Weathersafe was proud to partner with Ventia and Hawker Area School to deliver a 30m x 17m COLA as part of the Department for Education's Schools Upgrade Fund.
