Last Friday, the CJ Mac team took some time out for R U OK? Day 💛

We kicked off the morning with a toolbox brekkie before heading out for some go-karting and lunch together – with plenty of laughs and a bit of healthy competition along the way!

R U OK? Day is an important reminder for our team.

Many of our crew spend extended periods working away from home, away from their families, friends and usual support networks. When you’re living and working alongside your workmates day after day, it can be easy to keep things to yourself when something isn’t quite right.

And we know that, particularly among men, speaking up and saying “I’m not OK” doesn’t always come easily.

Days like this aren’t just about having some fun away from the job. They’re also about building stronger relationships across our team and breaking down some of those barriers, so our people feel comfortable checking in on each other, having a conversation when something doesn’t seem right, and reaching out to their teammates or leaders when they need support.

We had a great day, plenty of laughs and, judging by some of the driving on the go-kart track, a few people who might be better off sticking to telecommunications! 😂

A good reminder that asking “R U OK?” shouldn’t be something we do just once a year. 💛

Our crew has been working away this week, putting in the hours and doing what they do best. Being on the road and away from family isn’t always easy, but moments like this certainly make it a little more worthwhile.
