REVISIT | Inner West Residence

Cutting a striking figure and backdrop to the heritage street front.

Taking full advantage of the long, linear site, the new design ensures the rear yard that was once disconnected from the house becomes integral to the experience of the home.

LILYFIELD DOWNSIZER | A cork-lined kitchen wall, inspired by a Kylie Kwong restaurant interior admired by the clients, introduces a tactile focal point.

As well as being sustainable and low-toxin, the cork wall acts as a way-finding feature showing you have arrived at the living space.

LILYFIELD DOWNSIZER | On a narrow site in a conservation area such as this, access to daylight and natural ventilation is a key planning challenge. We introduced strategically placed skylights throughout the extension that shoot light down and transform how the space is experienced throughout the day.

ST ANDREWS THE JCR | Guided by “as much as necessary, as little as possible” many of the original design elements were retained and served as creative inspirations.

Steel-framed courtyard windows and doors informed the wider tonal palette across the project while existing timber joinery and stone fireplaces were left largely untouched.

Finishes are both enduring and atmospheric: mosaic tiles edged into brass, and full slab Patagonia Quartzite.

CLOVELLY ABODE | Calacatta Monet marble is used throughout to create an opulent connectivity from the bedside tables to the ensuite to the office.

Paired with walnut and bronze the duality of these materials play a significant role in establishing a peaceful ambiance in this family home.

THE BOTTLE CAP FACTORY | As expectations of the workplace continue to evolve, commercial lobbies are becoming destinations in their own right rather than simply transitional spaces.

This project was designed to unfold as a series of carefully curated experiences, inviting people to pause, connect and engage, rather than simply pass through.
