The government is trying to keep everyone safe by helping with grants for electrical safety.

" Essential services safety and reconnection grant
If you’re uninsured, or unable to claim insurance, you may be eligible for a grant to help you reconnect essential services that were damaged by a disaster.

There are 2 parts to the grant:

Inspection: up to $200 towards a safety inspection for each essential service needing reconnection (electricity, gas, water and sewerage or septic system)

Repair: up to $4200 towards repair work to enable essential services to be reconnected (for example, electrical rewiring). "

A reminder of just how detrimental termites and pests can be to your electricals, and how important it is to conduct pest control regularly. We were called to conduct testing on this property after their lights and fans stopped working suddenly. There had been an issue with termites previously which had been taken care of. However, we found that the termites had returned and had compromised the earthing circuit, which likely would have resulted in a fatal injury. The occupiers now must reside elsewhere with the power completely disconnected from the main until the property is rid of termites; the building integrity restored and compliant to the Building Code; and it can be deemed electrically safe in accordance with the Australian Wiring Rules and Legislative requirements.

Remember:
- If your electricals start to act out of the ordinary, STOP. Do not use any electrical equipment until a licenced electrician has confirmed it is safe to do so. Call us today to ensure you and your loved ones are safe from harm or death; and

- Engage a licenced and efficient pest control company like Critterkill to conduct regular maintenance on your home.

Once is not enough. Stay vigilant to stay alive.
