✨✨Siemens MRI Upgrade✨✨
This has to be one of our most rewarding and challenging projects to date.
Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) is a leading medical research and imaging facility. Its MRI infrastructure supports advanced research capability, and reliable building services are essential to equipment performance, environmental control and operational continuity.
The project required a complex live-site MRI upgrade within a strict 30-day timeframe. Careful planning, engineering and coordination were required across multiple stakeholders to deliver cost-saving opportunities where possible without diminishing quality. Critical building conditions also had to be maintained, including temporary cooling of helium pumps to preserve approximately -269°C throughout the works.
Versair's works included upgrading subterranean submains with and additional 3x120 mm XLPE, chilled water mechanical plumbing, mechanical and electrical upgrades, switchboard and board upgrades, BMS upgrades, equipment room expansion, building works, relocation of toilets and amenities, plastering, painting and flooring, fire asset relocation, general lighting and power, and final commissioning of critical water and air services.
Versair completed all works on budget and ahead of schedule, finishing the program in just 3 weeks. The successful Siemens MRI upgrade has positioned HMRI to further excel in advanced imaging and research capability, creating greater long-term value for the facility and its stakeholders.
