Full-time Diesel Mechanic / Service Mechanic
📍 Based in Wallaroo | Yorke Peninsula
M.A Skinner Contracting Pty Ltd is a well-established local earthmoving and quarry business supplying sands and metals across the region. With a large and expanding fleet of earthmoving machinery, trucks, and light vehicles, we’re looking for a skilled mechanic to keep our operation running smoothly.
This isn’t just workshop work. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing a diverse fleet supporting active civil construction, quarry operations, and transport logistics.

Key responsibilities:
Service, maintain, and repair earthmoving machinery, trucks, and light vehicles
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and site-ready
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Support breakdown response and onsite repairs when required
Work closely with operations to minimise downtime
Uphold workplace safety and environmental procedures
Assist in maintaining workshop cleanliness, stock, and parts management
What you'll bring:
Trade qualification as Diesel Mechanic (preferred) or Light Vehicle Mechanic
Experience working with heavy earthmoving equipment, trucks, or civil machinery (preferred)
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload priorities
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
HR licence (desirable but not essential)
White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable, hands-on attitude and strong work ethic
