What are the requirements to build a granny flat without council approval?🤔

A few boxes to tick as per the Complying Development Certificate (CDC) requirements:

🏡 A maximum of 1 granny flat per lot
🏡 Maximum area of 60m2
🏡 24m2 courtyard space for the granny flat, with an area of at least 4m wide
🏡 Check varying conditions based on bushfire, flood-affected and heritage areas
🏡 Access handle of at least 3m wide for battle-axe blocks
