We're passionate about supporting causes that are close to what we do every day.💛
For the sixth year running, Year 12 students at The Springfield Anglican College are taking part in Cancer Council Australia’s Ponytail Project — growing their hair, raising funds, and preparing for the big chop to support cancer research, prevention programs and people affected by cancer.
Sun protection is at the heart of what we do at Versatile Structures.— designing and installing quality shade structures that prevent harmful UV exposure. From school playgrounds to community parks and public spaces, we help to create safer outdoor environments and reduce exposure to our harsh Australian sun.
So supporting an initiative that helps Cancer Council fund cancer prevention, support and research feels especially worthwhile and we're very happy to get behind William Howard’s fundraising efforts with a $2,000 donation, helping him reach his goal — and putting our team at the top of the sponsor leaderboard!
Such an amazing initiative guys, we'll be cheering you on when it’s time for the big chop! ✂️🎗️

Our team nicknamed this project “Big Blue”. 💙
With its unique shape and scale, the architectural entranceway at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Rosebery required precision engineering to bring the design to life.
Working closely with Pattons, our team needed to bring the architect’s vision to life while keeping the steel connections minimal and maintaining the clean lines of the design. Installation brought its own challenges, including saturated ground, a tight work zone and the need for two cranes to achieve the precise alignment of the structure.
In the end it all came together: a pretty spectacular entrance that combines architecture, engineering and craftsmanship — and one we’re very proud to have helped bring to life.

It’s always so rewarding to see the shade structures we’ve designed and installed becoming part of community spaces that are enjoyed every day!
Like these sun-safe play zones at Riverdale Park in Meadowbrook — a beautiful 10-hectare park along the Logan River, complete with a dinosaur-themed playground, parkour fitness hub, BBQs and an off-leash dog park. ☀️
A great spot for local families to get outdoors, play and enjoy a little more protection from the Queensland sun.

This past Friday, the teams from Versatile Structures, Versatile Manufacturing and Superior Coaters came together for a social BBQ to celebrate our wonderful Office Administrator, Vanessa Tregloan, as she begins an exciting new chapter on maternity leave.

The newly renovated The Lord Stanley Hotel has opened its doors, and we couldn't be happier to have played a part in the transformation!

Our friends at Tenacity Cranes shared this fantastic footage from the installation of GOA Billboards' iconic curved screen, delivered in collaboration with Versatile Manufacturing.
The impressive billboard measures 4 metres high, 31 metres long and is positioned 15 metres above the ground, making every lift a carefully planned operation.
As the crane specialists put it: "Operating at a 40-metre working radius with over 50 metres of main boom and a 10.8-metre luffing fly jib, every lift demanded precise coordination and clear communication."

Our team was recently on-site at the iconic Grand Mariner Apartments in Paradise Waters on the Gold Coast, delivering a premium shade solution replacement across their impressive 2,000m² private lagoon pool area following storm damage to existing assets.

We kicked off this week on a high after our Sam Johnson Basketball Court Structure took first prize at in the Shade Sails or Structures (Knitted Shade Cloth) – Domestic category.
Every project has a story, and this one was about creating something both highly functional and visually striking.
Here's what made this a unique project to us:
• A full-span 678m² shade solution designed specifically for a custom residential basketball court.
• Integration of lighting, fencing and audio, creating a space that can be enjoyed well beyond daylight hours.
• High-performance 370 knitted HDPE fabric selected for its durability and long-term performance in Australian conditions.
• A robust steel framework engineered to support a large-scale structure while maintaining a clean, architectural aesthetic.
• In-house textile fabrication, allowing our team to oversee every detail from design through to installation.
