An iconic project soaring to new heights 🔝

Marina Bay Sands is an extraordinary triumph of structural physics and engineering. The iconic luxury integrated resort located along Marina Bay in Singapore required world class products to produce the world class resort.

With a pool measuring over three times that of an Olympic-size swimming pool on a cantilevered rooftop observation deck, the Sands® SkyPark signature design element was no ordinary pool tile installation.

To accomplish this physics-defying build a range of LATICRETE products were used including:

➡️ LATAPOXY® 300 Adhesive for its bond strength flexibility, and ability to bond to stainless steel,

Taking it back to the days of Blockbuster nights, dial-up internet, and Tamagotchis. 📼

During the 1990s, LATICRETE experienced rapid global expansion, digitised its operations, and launched several pioneering product lines. LATICRETE Australia opened in 1995 under the guidance of second generation LATICRETE leader, Henry B Rothberg, and his expertise helped lay the foundation for long term growth. Since our founding, the company has expanded from its origins in Queensland to include training centres and warehouses in New South Wales and Victoria, and services across all states.

The 90s also saw significant growth in the LATAPOXY® range, with the introduction of LATAPOXY 2000 IG, the first industrial strength 100% epoxy resin grout.

The launch of LATICRETE.com also made it easier than ever for customers around the world to discover and source LATICRETE products.

PTK – Profit Through Knowledge 💡

Last week at the LATICRETE Warehouse, Shane, Billy & Corey from the LATICRETE team held a training day covering HYDRO BAN® Waterproofing Membrane and Epoxy Grout Accreditation.

The day consisted of an in-depth presentation, along with practical demonstrations of HYDRO BAN® Waterproofing Membrane and Epoxy Grout. Participants also had the opportunity to get hands-on with the products, putting their newly gained knowledge into practice through live application.

Taking it back to the time of MTV and the Sony Walkman 🕹️

Today, we’re going back to the 1980s, a defining decade for LATICRETE as pioneers of high-performance tile and stone installation products. The 1980s saw rapid industrial expansion for LATICRETE, as the company continued to bridge construction materials with emerging technology.

The decade also saw the introduction of LATICRETE “Profit Through Knowledge” (PTK) Training workshops. Still running today, these workshops continue to educate and inspire the next generation of construction professionals.
