Position Vacant – Labourer/Offsider

Star Drill is a local Water well drilling company based in Mackay.

Currently we are looking for a Casual Labourer/Offsider to fill an ongoing role working alongside our driller.
No Experience necessary, just a willingness to work hard and learn the ropes.

Must be reliable and have a HR Truck License.
Some local travel may be required from time to time.

What is Water well drilling?

Water well drilling involves creating a borehole, inserting a supportive casing to prevent collapse and contamination, and then installing a pump to access groundwater from an aquifer.

The process includes selecting a site, drilling through soil and rock to reach a water-bearing layer, installing casing and well screens, and sealing the space between the casing and the well with bentonite or cement grout to prevent surface contamination.

Wells rely on rainwater and groundwater, with deeper wells generally offering more protection against contamination.
