🌳🔧 Underground Drainage Repair – Gold Coast

Tree roots can cause serious damage to underground drainage — even without growing directly inside the pipe.

We recently excavated a drainage issue and found tree roots had placed enough pressure on the pipework to push multiple fittings out of their sockets.

Our team carefully excavated around existing water and sewer services, removed the damaged and displaced drainage, and continued back until four sound sections of pipework were exposed.

New drainage was then installed to reinstate the system, with the connections protected before careful backfilling around the new pipework.

🚽✨ Two new toilets + a fresh new vanity = a big difference!

We gave these bathroom areas a freshen-up by removing the older fixtures and replacing them with a cleaner, more modern setup.

Out came:

❌ 2 x old toilet suites
❌ Existing wall-hung basin

And in went:

🚽 2 x Kore Plus back-to-wall toilets
🔧 New isolation valves
💧 New inlet hoses & cover plates
✨ New compact vanity
🚰 New basin mixer
💧 New pop-up plug & waste
🔧 Water & drainage connections
🧱 Laundry tiles reinstated using the owner's matching tiles

Once everything was fitted off, we turned the water back on and tested all fixtures and connections for correct operation and leaks.

A great example of how replacing a few older fixtures can give a bathroom a cleaner, more modern look without undertaking a complete renovation. 👌

🏠🔨 Old roof off. Fresh new roof going on!

This verandah roof was due for an upgrade, so the Red Beard Plumbing team was brought in to complete the roof and gutter replacement.

Safety first — we established our exclusion zone and site controls before getting started and coordinated the disconnection of the A/C units so the roofing works could be completed properly.

Then it was out with the old and in with:

✅ Classic Cream corrugated roof sheets
✅ All new roof fixings
✅ New flashings
✅ Cottage Green Quad guttering
✅ New gutter brackets & stop ends
✅ Connection back into the existing downpipes
✅ Coordination of the A/C reconnection

The Classic Cream roof with Cottage Green guttering is a great combination and gives the building a clean, fresh finish. 👌

Bathroom Renovation Fit-Off & Final Plumbing Works | Gold Coast

The final plumbing fit-off is where careful rough-in work, fixture selection and cabinetry coordination all come together.

Red Beard Plumbing recently completed the final plumbing works across a renovated bathroom, laundry and outdoor kitchen.

The bathroom fit-off included installation of the shower mixer and shower fittings, in-wall basin mixer and new toilet suite. The toilet required additional adjustment and reinstallation to achieve the correct water inlet orientation before final testing and silicone sealing.

The vanity installation also required modifications to the existing 40mm drainage. Our team repositioned the waste to the centre of the new vanity, carefully modified the cabinetry to accommodate the services and installed the new pop-up waste, trap and drainage connections before securing and sealing the vanity.
As part of the final maintenance works, the bathroom floor waste gullies were cleaned using a wet vacuum, treated and flushed before a grate seal was installed where required.

Following completion, all fixtures, water services and drainage connections were tested for correct operation and leaks.

Renovation fit-offs are about more than installing the visible fixtures — it's the adjustments, drainage alterations, cabinetry coordination and final testing that deliver a properly finished result.

💧🔍 One underground leak found… then testing uncovered another.

This one is a great example of why we test after every repair.

We were called in to carry out comprehensive leak detection and successfully traced the first leak to an underground water line near the building and quad area.

Once located:

🔍 Leak pinpointed & marked
🔨 Concrete cut and removed
⛏️ Pipework excavated
🔧 Damaged section removed & replaced
💧 Water supply reinstated

But we weren't finished…

Testing after the first repair identified another leak further downstream.

We returned, cut and excavated the second location and replaced another damaged section of pipework.

This time:

✅ Pressure test completed
✅ No further leaks detected
✅ Excavation backfilled
✅ Reinforcing installed
✅ Concrete reinstated
✅ Site cleaned & tidied

Finding the visible problem isn't enough. Repair it, test it, and make sure there isn't another issue hiding further down the line.

🚽🔧 Three toilets. Multiple faults. One visit.

We worked our way through this property sorting out a list of toilet maintenance issues across the upstairs bathroom, ensuite and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs Bathroom

🌧️ Commercial Roof Leak Investigation & Repair – Gold Coast

Roof leaks aren't always coming from where the water appears inside the building.

Our team recently investigated ongoing water ingress at a commercial property and traced the likely entry points to roof pe*******ons around an air-conditioning unit and redundant exhaust vent.

Rather than simply applying more sealant, we carried out a proper roof plumbing rectification.

Works included removing the existing flashing, modifying the roof sheeting and installing custom dry pan flashing from the ridge past the A/C pe*******on to redirect rainwater correctly. We also removed a redundant roof vent, altered the PVC vent through the roof space and correctly sealed the new pe*******on.

All pe*******ons were resealed and the completed installation checked before leaving site.

🚿🚽 Another bathroom & laundry fit-off coming together!

There's something satisfying about getting to the final stages of a renovation and seeing all the new fixtures go in. 👌

Before we could get started on the fit-off, we identified a faulty isolation valve servicing the unit. That meant isolating the entire complex, replacing the failed valve and getting the water back on before continuing.

Then it was onto the good stuff:

✅ In-wall vanity mixer & spout
✅ Vanity waste connected
✅ New toilet installed
✅ Toilet packed correctly to suit the uneven floor

🔨🚰 When the tap repair turns into a surgical operation…

These old tap spindles were completely seized and weren't coming out without a fight!

Rather than causing unnecessary damage to the surrounding wall, we carefully removed a tile to access the plumbing and get the job done properly.

🔧 Extensions fitted to suit the wall depth
