New England Solar’s largest transformer is set to be delivered to site in October, as preparations continue for New England Stage 2.
The arrival of the transformer – 11 metres long, 4.4m high and weighing 244 tonnes during delivery – will be a spectacle of unprecedented proportions when it is trucked through the Uralla township.

A new research partnership between New England Solar, CSIRO and Macquarie University is underway to utilise satellite and drone imaging for enhanced vegetation management.
The New England Solar team has been bolstered by the appointment of a new Project Manager with nearly two decades of experience in power generation and the renewable energy sector.
And three weeks remain for applications for Round 2 for the New England Solar Social Investment Program.

Round 2 of our 2026 New England Solar Social Investment Program is now open for applications. Visit the New England Solar project website to submit an application.
We've appointed a new Director of Operations to lead our teams at New England Solar Stage 1 and Stubbo Solar in the NSW Central West-Orana region.
And three electric All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) have been added to the New England Solar Operations fleet, as the project continues to move towards clean energy solutions.

This year's winter solstice is just days away, when the tide turns towards longer days and more sunshine for clean energy generation. ☀️😃
Uralla's community will bid farewell to the shortest day of the year when it gathers at the Constellations Sculpture Park in The Glen this Saturday.

The first round of funding recipients from this year’s New England Solar Social Investment Program has been announced, with 16 local community organisations sharing a total of $75,000.
Rural fire services, education support services, sporting groups and arts organisations were among the Uralla Shire-based not-for-profits that benefitted from the first of two rounds for the year.
Heroic and heartwarming stories were in abundance when the groups gathered for a presentation ceremony at Uralla Library and provided insight to how they are working to create a healthier, more vibrant and connected Uralla Shire.

Uralla Library is now a more flexible and functional space, after its bookshelves were fitted with special castor wheels using funds from our Social Investment Program.
The wheels were fitted this week, allowing the shelves to be moved to create open spaces in the library that can accommodate more community events and activities.
It’s a fantastic example of how our New England Solar Social Investment Program (SIP) is helping the Uralla community become even more vibrant and cohesive.

The construction team for our New England Battery Energy Storage System has begun demobilising its site compound, as the project transitions from construction to commissioning and testing.

And we've welcomed a new Site Manager for our New England Solar Stage 1 Operations team, with Quinton Ludick bringing more than a decade’s experience in the electrical and mechanical sector.
