Our new 244-tonne transformer has been delivered to the New England Solar substation. Installation is underway, in an important milestone to prepare for New England Stage 2. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our information stand in Pioneer Park yesterday to chat to the ACEN Australia team and our project partners from EPEC.
The transformer weighs roughly the same as 116 Toyota Hilux dual-cab utes. Propelled by a 70m convoy of six prime movers, the trailer's 18 axles distribute the weight to comply with road weight limits and prevent road damage.

Uralla's sporting attention now turns to the town's netballers, as they head into their grand finals this weekend.
After the Uralla Tigers Rugby League Club celebrated its most successful season for 20 years, with premierships for both the A-grade and Reserves, Uralla Netball Club is also wrapping up an historic season.
Its top side has reached the Armidale District Netball Association Division 1 grand final for the first time in the club's history. It will be joined on grand final day by the club's Division 5 and Primary 1 teams.
We're proud to support through our New England Solar Social Investment Program and wish all the players the best of luck on Saturday.

Best of luck to the Uralla Tigers as they head into junior and senior rugby league grand finals this weekend.
The men's A-grade and Reserves team, and the Under 14 boys side have all reached their title deciders, heading the club's most successful season for 20 years.

New England Solar’s largest transformer is set to be delivered to site in October, as preparations continue for New England Stage 2.
The arrival of the transformer – 11 metres long, 4.4m high and weighing 244 tonnes during delivery – will be a spectacle of unprecedented proportions when it is trucked through the Uralla township.

A new research partnership between New England Solar, CSIRO and Macquarie University is underway to utilise satellite and drone imaging for enhanced vegetation management.
The New England Solar team has been bolstered by the appointment of a new Project Manager with nearly two decades of experience in power generation and the renewable energy sector.
And three weeks remain for applications for Round 2 for the New England Solar Social Investment Program.

Round 2 of our 2026 New England Solar Social Investment Program is now open for applications. Visit the New England Solar project website to submit an application.
We've appointed a new Director of Operations to lead our teams at New England Solar Stage 1 and Stubbo Solar in the NSW Central West-Orana region.
And three electric All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) have been added to the New England Solar Operations fleet, as the project continues to move towards clean energy solutions.

This year's winter solstice is just days away, when the tide turns towards longer days and more sunshine for clean energy generation. ☀️😃
Uralla's community will bid farewell to the shortest day of the year when it gathers at the Constellations Sculpture Park in The Glen this Saturday.
