FMS Group recently acquired a FARO 3D Scanning Tool which is being used extensively on both Fabrication and Refurbishment projects in the FMS Paget Workshop 👏

Adding to our scanning capabilities, this tool brings enormous benefits to the customer such as:

✔️ Before ‘works’ arrive into the Workshop we are able to visit site in advance and 3D scan the job, which allows for pre-ordering of materials in advance for reduced lead times on component refurbishments.

✔️ Far superior and much quicker than manually measuring. Capturing millions of data points with incredible accuracy, removing any chance of human error in the process.

✔️ Used extensively in FMS’s Quality Control particularly on our new builds of Ground Force Water Tanks providing verification, drawing dimensions and tolerances achieved on every new build!

One machine can need more than one specialist ⚙️ Coordinating these scopes across multiple contractors can add more planning and contractor interfaces to an already complex maintenance job.

FMS Group provides these capabilities in-house, allowing related maintenance and repair scopes to be coordinated through one team. When additional work is identified during a job, having the relevant capabilities in-house can also make it easier to address the wider maintenance requirement without starting the coordination process again with another contractor.
