This National Skills Week we’re excited to announce the launch of a new purpose-built training facility for insulation installers, developed through a collaboration between Enviroflex, Green Building Institute and Wall and Ceiling Institute.

Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world installation, the facility gives installers the opportunity to train in realistic residential scenarios before taking those skills into Australian homes.

This first-of-its-kind training environment includes:

- Residential house framing to scale
- Roof & ceiling access through tiles
- Underfloor access
- Navigating ceiling access via a manhole
- Electrical wiring and other common roof space obstacles
- Shutting off electrical mains
- Practical insulation installation scenarios

The facility has been developed with input from the University of Melbourne’s Retrofit Lab, helping create a practical training environment that reflects the challenges installers encounter every day.

It’s about more than learning how to install insulation. It’s about building installer capability, improving safety and workmanship, and supporting consistently high standards across the industry.
