Looking for a secure, fenced hardstand for short-term lease (approx. 3 months) to store a truck, & an excavator on a trailer.

Access: Mon–Fri 6:00am–5:30pm + half-day Sat.
Equipment will be taken out daily, so space is mostly vacant during the day. Minimal disruption. CCTV required.

Looking after your equipment is just as important as knowing how to operate it. Regular servicing, checking everything over, and respecting the machines is where good operators start.

In a family business everyone learns to pitch in and earn their keep.

After almost 10 years of running Bobcat excavators, we decided it was time to try something different.

Last year Brett and I went to the Perth Tradie Expo and fell for this excavator, so we kept our eye on it while we saved the 20% deposit.

We recently took advantage of the WesTrac 1.49% finance offer and added our very first CAT excavator to the Versatile Civil Works fleet.

Bobcats have served us well and we still have two in the fleet, but we’re excited to see how the CAT 301.8 performs. It also comes with an enclosed cab with air-con and heating, which will make those long days on site a bit more comfortable.

Not going to lie though — I do like the look of a Bobcat, so I’m not sure how I’ll feel about the bright yellow… maybe all it needs is a sunflower sticker. 🌻

It’s currently on its way over and going through the workshop, so we should have it on site in the next week or two.

🌟 WANTED: Secure Fenced Area or Workshop for Truck Parking + Storage 🌟

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for either a secure, fenced area or a large enough workshop to park a truck, and ideally a sea container on-site that we can use or rent for storing equipment. (We don’t have our own container.)

Truck size requirements:
• Needs approximately 10 metres of length
• Requires 3.7m height clearance, as we store our excavator on the tray
• Worst case, we can track the excavator off if clearance is tight

Usage:
• Truck is out between 6am–5pm, so very low daily traffic
• During our 2-week Christmas shutdown, impact is minimal — we’ll be away on holidays, with someone only dropping by 2-3 times to check, service, or clean it.

Just needing a safe, reliable space to give its current home (a friend’s lawn!) a break.

✔️ MR/HR licence
✔️ Experience on a 3T excavator + working safely around live services
✔️ White Card & civil construction background
✔️ Strong communication skills
✔️ Can pass Drug & Alcohol testing
✔️ Reliable, safety-focused & hard-working
✔️ Experience excavating for cable jointing & NBN pit installs
✔️ Pride in equipment care (keep our truck & excavator clean and in good working order)

Our Bobcat E30 Excavator has a comfy cabin with A/C & Heat and low hours.

Hours
• Mon–Fri: 7am–5pm
• Optional: every 2nd Sat 7am–1pm

Pay
💰 Casual $38–$50/hr + penalties (depending on experience)
✅ 1-week paid job trial available
