One year ago we welcomed the Metalscape collection into the Custom Steel Appeal family. 🎉

Metalscape had been creating beautiful Australian-made metal art for 18 years — and when the business came up for sale, we couldn't bear the thought of those designs disappearing. So we did what any slightly obsessed people would do. We bought it. 😄

What we didn't fully anticipate was just how warmly our own customers would take to them. Honestly? You lot have absolutely embraced these designs, and it's been such a joy to watch.

A year on, these designs have found their way into hundreds of Australian gardens, front fences, and front doors — and we couldn't be prouder to be looking after them.

Now THAT is a letterbox. 😍

This Kookaburra letterbox belongs to one very happy customer. The weathering steel patina has started to develop, the kookaburra cutout is striking, and it looks completely at home in that rural setting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Fantastic… does as intended and looks great in the process. The parcel shelf works well and is much better than parcels in plain sight."

The parcel shelf gets a mention every time, and honestly, that's why it's our favourite feature. Nobody wants their deliveries sitting out for the whole street to see (or in the rain at this time of year).

We are excited to be back in Casterton again this June long weekend for the 30th annual Australian Kelpie Muster!

Come & enjoy the street parade and festival on Saturday, and see just how clever these dogs are at the demonstration on Sunday.

📍 We will be in our usual spots on both days:
Saturday: find us on Henty Street at the end of the Kelpie High Jump, in front of the Flowering Gum Gym.
Sunday: at Island Park we will be on the south side of the main shed

One of the projects we were incredibly proud to be part of recently was creating custom alpaca signs and metal décor for the Akubra Alpaca shearing demonstrations at the Sydney Royal Easter Show 🦙

The goal was to help capture the feel of an authentic old shearing shed — rustic, welcoming, and full of character.

Hearing feedback like this makes all the hard work worthwhile:
