Start From A Plan, Not A Blank Page

Start with a design that already works for most clients.
Then add what’s specific to you. You get a plan that’s already resolved, plus the things that matter to your household.

Not A Box In The Backyard

The idea comes from what granny flats used to be: modular, relocatable, built to be taken away. That kind of unit added nothing to a property.

Today’s second dwelling sits on a slab. It can be built in brick. It’s a permanent home, not a temporary structure.

In Victoria, a second unit was for family only.

It was a Dependent Person’s Unit, built to be relocated, not to stay.It added no value to your house.

Queensland was the opposite: a second dwelling that stayed, and added value to the property.

That difference is why we went north.
