After-Hours Emergency Sewer Response

A serious sewer surcharge caused contaminated wastewater to overflow into an ensuite bathroom and adjoining bedroom.

Our team responded after hours, identified a **main sewer blockage**, and used high-pressure water jetting to clear the line.

During the process, we found heavy tree-root intrusion restricting the sewer flow.

1. Main sewer blockage cleared

AFTER-HOURS EMERGENCY MAKE-SAFE – SEWER SURCHARGE

We attended an urgent after-hours call-out following a sewer surcharge within the ensuite bathroom, resulting in Category 3 contaminated wastewater overflowing internally and impacting the adjoining bedroom and carpet.

Our investigation identified the main sewer line completely blocked.

Using high-pressure water jetting from the lower-ground garage, we cleared the main line and encountered significant tree-root intrusion within the sewer, which had restricted the flow and caused the internal surcharge.

1. Main sewer blockage successfully cleared
2. Heavy root intrusion cut through and removed
3. Drainage flow restored and tested
4. Sewer system left operational as an emergency make-safe

Not every leak has an obvious source.

In this case, water ingress was occurring beneath the floor area, while the source was not immediately visible internally.

Our team investigated the surrounding areas and identified the nearby planter box and downpipe as potential entry points. A controlled spray test using green tracing dye then confirmed the suspected water pathway.

Sometimes the source of a roof leak isn’t visible from above.

During a recent roof leak investigation, the affected roof tile was located beneath a solar panel, making it difficult to inspect externally.

Through a thorough roof cavity inspection, we identified that a roof tile beneath the solar panel had previously been slid upward and had not been repositioned correctly.

This left an opening in the roof covering, allowing water to enter the roof cavity during rainfall.

The issue was located and made safe by:
1. Accessing and inspecting the affected area from within the roof cavity
2. Identifying the displaced roof tile beneath the solar panel
3. Repositioning the tile correctly
4. Securing the area and stopping the point of water ingress

This is why our leak detection process doesn't stop with a visual inspection from the roof.

When required, we inspect inside the roof cavity to trace water ingress back to its source and, where possible, carry out an immediate make-safe or rectification.
