A few jobs now, and you'll thank yourself when it warms up:
• Get on winter weeds before they seed
• Finish pruning roses & deciduous trees while they're still dormant
• Feed the lawn as it wakes, and mulch the beds to lock in moisture
• Service the mower & sharpen the blades before the growth rush
• Hold the frost-tender stuff (tomatoes & co) till mid-November — our frosts aren't quite done

Local tip: don't hard-cut your hedges heading into the Tumut frosts. 🌿❄️

Fresh cuts push soft new growth — and our frosts will burn it. Time it wrong and you're left with brown, damaged tips all winter. Time it right and the hedge comes into spring sharp and healthy.

The other half of a great formal hedge: taper the sides so the base sits slightly wider than the top. It keeps light on the bottom so it never goes bare and leggy.
