We are currently seeking an experienced Multi skilled Operator to join the growing team at LSK Contracting.
This role offers a great mix of civil earthworks, forestry, and vegetation management work, suited to someone confident across multiple machines and job types around the Gippsland area.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Operating a range of machinery including dozers, excavators, skid steers, graders, and trucks

• Carrying out forestry and vegetation management works

• General civil earthworks including site prep and clean-ups

• Assisting with labouring duties where required

• Maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard

• Adhering to all WH&S requirements and site procedures

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil, earthworks, or forestry operations

• Proven ability to operate multiple machines confidently and efficiently

• Experience in forestry or vegetation work highly regarded

• Tickets and licences relevant to machinery operation

• Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

We are seeking operators with proven experience operating various plant and equipment, such as
• Excavators
• Skid Steers

This is NOT a training position.
We are only looking for operators who already have demonstrated experience and competency operating machinery in a forestry environment.

Requirements:
✔ Relevant plant tickets
✔ Construction White Card
✔ Demonstrated experience operating machinery safely and efficiently

⭐ Highly regarded:
• Heavy combination truck licence/tipper experience

We work across civil earthworks, forestry and vegetation projects, so the ability to work in a team and take pride in your work is essential.

As of Sunday, the Wonnangatta–Dargo fire has been successfully contained — a result of the relentless effort, long hours, and professionalism shown by firefighters, contractors, and support agencies over recent weeks.

LSK Contracting is incredibly proud of our team and the many contractors and organisations who worked together with one clear goal: protecting the community!

This outcome is a testament to teamwork, experience, and the willingness of so many to step up when it mattered most.

Great to see proactive work underway to protect iconic high-country huts, fencing and headstones from bushfire risk.

These sites tell the story of our past and deserve to be preserved for future generations. Once lost, they can’t be replaced.

Amazing effort by all involved.

We saw varied rainfall, thunderstorms and hail over parts of the Dargo fire complex overnight and through the early morning.

On the southern edge of the fire near Marathon Road we saw around 30mm of rain and the section around Talbotville received 17mm. Contractors and ground crews will take advantage of the cooler conditions to reset after a very busy seven days. Crews will be back on the fire ground as soon as conditions allow to continue important work.

Work continues in the North where less rainfall was recorded. Crews and machinery continue to work on containment lines and will commence back burning as conditions allow south of Penny Track. Aircraft will be collecting intelligence today across the fire ground and will also run a scan for hot spots.

It is important to note that despite this rainfall there is still plenty of work to do on the fire. Stay tuned for an update from Incident Controller Peter Brick on what these conditions mean for our crews and the outlook for the Dargo complex of fires.

Our crew is on the ground supporting fire operations at the Dargo–Wonnangatta fire complex.
Working alongside local landowners, operators and agencies to help construct and reinstate control lines for asset and property protection.
A massive effort from all involved ….teamwork and local knowledge make a real difference in situations like this.
