🌳 CASUAL STUMP GRINDING OPERATOR 🌳
💰 $37 per hour + super
🕐 Casual position
📅 20–30 hours per week once fully trained
📍 Townsville
Gibsons Stump Grinding is looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated person to join our established local business.
This is more than just a labouring position. We’re looking for someone who can be trained to become an independent stump grinding operator, completing jobs from start to finish.
🛠️ THE ROLE
Initially, you’ll work alongside the owner while you learn:
✅ To operate Vermeer stump grinders
✅ Safe work practices
✅ Site setup and cleanup
✅ Loading, unloading and transporting equipment
✅ Working professionally around customers and their properties
✅ Daily machine checks and basic maintenance
✅ Completing jobs safely and to our required standard
Once you’re fully trained and demonstrate that you can safely and competently complete jobs on your own, you’ll be trusted to take the machines out and complete your own jobs independently.
🕐 HOURS
🔹 During training: Hours will vary depending on workload and your progression.
🔹 Once you’re a competent independent operator: Approximately 20–30 hours per week, depending on available work.

We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Reliable and punctual
✅ Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
✅ Safety conscious
✅ Mechanically minded and willing to learn
✅ Comfortable working independently
✅ Professional and respectful with customers
✅ Able to follow instructions and take responsibility
✅ Holds a current driver’s licence
✅ Preferably a non-smoker
🌿 Experience in landscaping, arboriculture, machinery operation, construction or similar work is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person.
