Stage Two for Beechmont Estate. TrueWater designed the wastewater treatment system for expansion in line with the growth of the development, prioritizing compliance, cost-effective maintenance, and operational reliability. The expansion included a second Kubota MBBR HCZ treatment plant, additional subsurface drip irrigation area, and a 35kL wet-weather storage tank, providing up to four days of treated wastewater storage during extreme rainfall. Planning during Stage One allowed the expansion to proceed under the existing Environmental Approval, supporting Beechmont Estate's future growth without additional council approval.

Wastewater needs to be dispersed to the environment once it is treated. If you have a home onsite sewage system, the treated effluent goes to the land application area (LAA) in your garden which is usually underground. Here at True Water, we are experts at finding the best solution for your property. The type, size and placement of your effluent disposal area will depend on the size of your house, the surrounding environment and your local council’s regulations. The most common methods used are:

• Subsurface irrigation (SSI) – great all-rounder, ideal for keeping your lawn green.
• ETA beds – most commonly used with septic tank systems.
• Arch trenches – perfect for those small coastal blocks with sandy soils.
• Engineered mounds – for challenging sites and flood zones.

Stage One complete: We delivered a new wastewater treatment plant at Hazelwood Estate in Beechmont, QLD to expand on their existing infrastructure and support the property's new accommodation and function facilities. The new Kubota MBBR treatment system manages the estate's increased wastewater flows from 20 new eco cabins, a function centre, day spa, and event space. The new owners of this 5-bedroom home in Woombah reached out to our team because they weren't sure if their old septic system was still functioning properly. They decided to invest in a brand-new wastewater system to ensure their home had a reliable and efficient way to manage wastewater.
