Carpenter 👷

Vaughn brings over 30 years of carpentry experience to the team and has worked alongside Geoff for more than seven years. His extensive knowledge and steady approach make him a valued and reliable part of the build process.

Known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail, Vaughn takes pride in delivering quality craftsmanship on every project.

Outside of work, Vaughn is a dedicated family man with three children. He enjoys spending weekends at the park with his kids, going to church, and heading out for a fishing trip whenever he gets the chance.

Vaughn provides exceptional service not only to our customers but to all trades who have been working alongside Geoff Gibson Homes for many years.

Apprentice Carpenter 👷

Clancy is a carpentry apprentice who started as a school-based apprentice and continues to build his skills through hands-on experience.

He brings enthusiasm and a willingness to learn to the team as he develops his trade on the job.

Clancy enjoys being part of the building process and is committed to gaining practical experience while working alongside the team.

Outside of work, he plays men’s league basketball and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

In a previous post we displayed images of the initial preparations for polished concrete floors in one of our projects.

We can now show you the finished burnished concrete floors.
It has been an extensive process to get finished images you can see. This includes a mechanical grinding process with the addition of concrete hardeners and a penetrating sealer.

This finished concrete has a density of 2240 kg/m3 and when we expose the surface of the burnished concrete to the internal environment of the home, we can harness a huge storage of thermal mass to moderate the internal temperatures.

Throughout the same project most of the internal walls are constructed of Rammed Earth and Rammed Earth has a density of 2000 kg/m3, so these two construction materials result in a combined thermal mass of hundreds of tonnes.
This huge thermal mass acts as a thermal battery that will absorb, store and release energy to make this home comfortable all year.

And in the end, it just looks amazing.

Chris is a highly experienced carpenter with over 40 years in the trade and has worked alongside Geoff since 2013. He brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and reliability to every project he is involved in.

With decades of hands-on experience, Chris is a valued member of the team and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys cattle farming and spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
