We have a few more changes to make during the Concept Design stage before moving on to the Construction Designs and we couldn’t be more excited to see it all start coming together!

We’re looking forward to seeing the changes that Council implements to ease the regulations around living in tiny homes! 🏡

🗣️We’ve had a lot of people tell us Council’s policy that restricts tiny homes needs to change because we’re in a .

We’ve also heard the message that we’re out of step with other local governments.

So this week we voted unanimously to review the local laws that stop people living in tiny homes. Some people need the laws changed so they have a roof over their heads at a lower price or so they can be near family to care for them when they’re sick. Others are choosing to live in a minimalistic way. That’s their decision so how are we letting people have the choice?

It’s a surprisingly complex policy area and we need to make sure it’s done right but bottom line is we want people to be safe.

I’ve had a lot of conversations and meetings with people about this. Some have shared very personal stories of their lives.

🏡💡For those who don’t know what a tiny home is, this pic of Holly and her family will give you an idea. There are lots of different types - just like there are variations in larger homes - and they require approvals.

Officers working in compliance and planning are on the case and will report back to us in December.

We recently had the opportunity to measure an old home that had just sold, and tucked away inside, we found this little piece of history. 📖

“You can do it!” .... A vintage guide to painting & wallpapering.

Judging by the wallpaper throughout the home, it looks like the previous owners took the advice to heart!

We love finding these little glimpses into the history of a home. Different era with different trends, but the desire to make a house your own never changes.

From a bank to a space built for community.

We transformed this former bank in Pittsworth, QLD into modern, welcoming disability support offices, creating an environment designed to better serve the community. It's always rewarding to give an existing building a new purpose while preserving its place in the town's story.

A big thank you to Annie's House for letting us take a peek inside and see the finished space. It was great to revisit the project and see it being put to such meaningful use.
