On Wednesday night, CDI Pest hosted the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Business @ Dusk networking event at our offices and celebrated 21 years of operation for CDI.

As an independent family-owned pest management business, we have grown to open a branch in Brisbane and service contracts across the State, however we are still proud to call Toowoomba home. Thank you for trusting us with your homes, your businesses, and your livelihoods.

We’ve always believed that being part of a community means more than just doing business within it—it means giving back. Over the years, CDI Pest has been proud to support local initiatives, community groups, and organisations that make Toowoomba such a great place to live. We’ve always aimed to play our part in strengthening the community that has supported us so generously.

At CDI Pest, we’re not just focused on solving problems—we’re focused on how we solve them. From the beginning, we’ve believed in being an environmentally conscious pest management business. That means using responsible practices, choosing safer treatments, and always considering the impact of what we do, and it continues to shape how we operate today.

One of the proudest moments in our journey came recently, when CDI Pest was recognised as Pest Manager of the Year in 2024. This award is a tremendous honour, but more than anything, it’s a reflection of the dedication of our entire team and the trust our customers place in us. It reinforces our commitment to excellence and motivates us to keep raising the bar.

As we celebrate our 21 years milestone, we also look ahead. The future for CDI Pest Management is about continuing to innovate, continuing to improve, and continuing to serve this community with the same care and integrity that we started with back in 2005.

We are incredibly proud of how far we’ve come—but we’re even more excited about where we’re going.

I would like to take a moment to thank our team, past and present. Your hard work, professionalism, and dedication are the reason CDI Pest is what it is today. You represent our values every single day out in the field, and we couldn’t do it without you.

So we take this time to celebrate 21 years of CDI Pest Management—but more importantly, we celebrate 21 years of community, relationships, and shared success.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Thank you for your support. And here’s to many more years ahead.
A big shout out to , and for all their help on the night.

Rodents often move indoors during winter.

As temperatures drop, rodents start looking for warm places to nest.

Signs you may have unwanted guests include:
• Scratching sounds in walls or ceilings
• Droppings around the home
• Chewed packaging
• Pet food disappearing overnight

The sooner a rodent issue is addressed, the easier it is to manage.

Our mild winters mean termite colonies stay active year-round and because we're less vigilant in the cooler months, they can cause serious damage before anyone notices.

Hollow-sounding timber, stiff doors and windows, or mud tubes along your walls are all warning signs worth acting on.

Winter is actually a great time for an inspection, colonies are concentrated and easier to locate and treat.

📞 Book your winter termite inspection today and get ahead of the damage.

Most homeowners don't realise that something as simple as a broken or blocked gutter can become an open invitation for pests.

When gutters crack, sag or overflow, they create the perfect conditions for mosquitoes to breed in standing water, attract cockroaches and rodents seeking moisture, and allow water damage that softens timber — giving termites easy access to your home.

As part of our comprehensive pest management service, we don't just treat the problem, we help you identify the conditions that cause it. That includes a check of your gutters and drainage areas, roof eaves, and entry points around your property.

A small maintenance issue today can prevent a costly infestation tomorrow.

How can you identify a Fire Ant nest?

Keep an eye out for dirt mounts that resemble loose/crumbling soil with no obvious entry holes (Fire Ants use a network of hidden tunnels to access the nest). Nests will likely be located in open and sunny areas like lawns.

If you think you may have come across a Fire Ant nest, keep a safe distance, take a photo and shoot it through to our team. We can analyse the photo quickly and come up with a plan of action for you.

If you have timber touching the soil around your home that's an open invitation for termites.

Fence posts, deck supports, garden sleepers and any other exposed timber around the home can become an easy access point for termite activity.

Maintaining a gap between wood and soil makes a huge difference in protecting your property from costly damage.

Not sure if your home is at risk? CDI Pest Control can help with expert termite inspections and advice.

What does a Fire Ant look like?

These invasive pests are small, ranging from 2-6mm, with dark, reddish brown bodies. Their shiny appearance, distinctive bent antennae, and darker abdomen make them easy to spot.

Fire ants are extremely aggressive when disturbed. They will respond by swarming and repeatedly stinging.

If you aren't sure if you've spotted a nest of fire ants, snap a photo and send it to us. Our experts will promptly analyse and can provide a tailored quote for effective treatment.
