Running a small business is made easier when you’ve got a great on-site team who take pride in their work and attention to detail.

A couple of the guys notched these posts so the decking board sits flush against them, clean joint lines, no shortcuts, nobody asked them to. It’s details like this that make the end result even better.

Some of our first world problems as builders 😂.

JOB OPPORTUNITY — CARPENTER

Every weekend is a long weekend.

Matchett Constructions runs a four-day week — Monday to Thursday, full 40 hours, no pay cut. We're hiring an experienced carpenter to join the team in Toowoomba.
We build custom new homes, renovations and extensions. Renovation experience matters here — you'll need to read plans and engineering drawings confidently, problem-solve on existing structures, and work tight with the rest of the crew.
The deal:
• 4-day roster — every Friday off
• Above-award rates for the right person
• Fuel card included
• All work in and around Toowoomba — home every night
• Quality jobs you'll be proud to put your name to
If you're a carpenter who's tired of five-day weeks for the same pay, let's talk.

Inner-city renovation, reimagined.

Taking an existing home and turning it into something that feels brand new — without losing its character — is where the real work happens.

Clean lines, considered finishes, and spaces that actually function for everyday living.

From custom joinery details through to full wet area upgrades, every element is planned and executed with intent.

This is the standard we bring to every renovation and extension we take on

Escarpment builds done right.

Projects like this are where experience really counts.

Steep sites, structural steel, elevated platforms and complex rooflines — all needing to come together seamlessly.

It’s not just about getting a frame up…
it’s about planning, sequencing and ex*****on from day one.

This is the level of detail we bring to every custom home and renovation we take on across Toowoomba.

The boys pushing through framing on this two-storey build in Middle Ridge.

Plenty going into this one — structural steel and large open voids, which always adds a layer of complexity.

Starting to really take shape now.

More time where it matters most.

One of the best decisions we’ve made at Matchett Constructions is implementing a 4-day work week.

For our team, it means a 3-day weekend every week—while still hitting their 40 hours and getting the job done properly.

For our family, it’s been a game changer.

It gives Jess more flexibility with her work, and it means I can be around more—school drop-offs, pick-ups, and moments like this that you don’t get back.

We’re still delivering high-quality builds, still pushing projects forward—but doing it in a way that actually supports life outside of work.

Better balance. Better culture. Better outcomes all round.
