Looking to add some gorgeous salmon toned dahlias to your patch?

These are a few that we love.

Devon Salmon is my favourite by far!! A tall and strong growing plant that just flowers endlessly and is the most perfect salmon shade. If I could only grow one salmon dahlia this would be my pick.

L.A.T.E is another salmon stunner with the added golden highlights, it is a dahlia like no other and very pretty! It has a real glow about it.

Devon Apollo is another favourite of mine, blending well with so many different colours and is a lovely warm peachy colour. It has great stems for cutting too.

Florelie Flamingo is obviously new to our patch being a new release Florelie dahlia, but we loved it this season and plan on growing many more next season. The shade changed throughout the season and it had lovely long stems and was a good strong grower.

The final one I’ve included is West Coast as it flowers well and produces abundant tubers if you’re wanting to increase numbers quickly. It also has that lovely purple tinge towards the centre.

Next time I’ll cover some of our favourite corals which are one of my absolute favourite colour groups.

Camellia ‘Volunteer’ is hard to beat.Such a beautifully ruffled variety.

I love this time of year in our little Japanese garden section, when the maples all start to colour up, just so beautiful and a space that I find so relaxing and calming.
Soon the Ginkgo biloba tree will follow with its beautiful yellow leaves.
For now I’m enjoying the maples.

Sharing a few of our favourite pastel dahlias from the patch.

Prue is a real overachiever, always in flower, healthy and produces an abundance of tubers.

Warraview Lola is another beauty. The depth of colour varies throughout the season but I loved her in all of her variations.

Florelie Antique was a new addition and I loved the unique antique pastel shade she brought to the patch. A bigger bloom, so not as prolific but very worthy of inclusion.

Vintage Wine is a pretty one, lovely shape and unique light speckling. A popular variety.

Lady Catherine was new to us this year, but incredibly beautiful and I am so looking forward to giving her as many spots in the patch as I can fit!

Formby Pearl is all class! Beautiful form and stunning pastel colour that was really popular with our Bubbles and Bouquet Event guests. She flowered strongly all season.

Boundary Sophie was a new addition so I haven't had a long time to assess her but have included it because the colour is a little different and very pretty.

Jeff Bloom is a soft lavender for those wanting something in this colour tone. There aren't alot of dahlias in this colour so it's a nice one to have.

Warraview Peerless is another exciting new addition to our patch, which looks very promising. It had a very good first season and I loved the delicate colour.

Finally, Coorabell Amy, a tall grower that flowered abundantly on a very healthy plant. This one has lots of petal shimmer!!

Please feel free to share your favourite pastels as I'd love to know what grew well for you.

Let’s talk about whites!!

They may not generate as much excitement, but a good white is so useful in a cut flower collection.

My absolute standout has been Ryecroft Jan and boy was she prolific and the form was absolutely stunning. If I had to choose just one white this would be it.

Devon Iceberg was also a very solid performer and a different shape to Ryecroft Jan, so it was nice to have two different whites.

Ryecroft Peace is a promising new addition, still settling in but very beautiful, so many petals!!!!

Devon Peace is a very tall grower with flowers that are larger than the other whites if you’re looking for a slightly larger bloom.

Lastly, Glenmarc Francis. The smallest flower but sometimes having that pretty blush. For me it was most productive in the latter half of the season.

It’s just over a week since we said our last goodbye to our beautiful girl Lola.
She lived a beautiful life full of love, treats, sun lounging on the deck and was the sweetest girl, but it was time, and we had to do what was best for her. We gave her our final act a love, a peaceful goodbye with the people she loved.
We’ll miss her terribly.
We’re so lucky to still have Coco to love, but it’s a big adjustment for us all.
