Joinery that honours the design.
Westbourne is a family home restored and reimagined by the talented team at W O W O W A, and we were proud to bring the joinery to life.

At the heart of the kitchen, a handmade concrete island is paired with custom-painted cabinetry to match its soft green tones, while oak veneer with an ebonised black stain adds warmth and depth. Sheer curtains, generous ceiling height and beautifully considered proportions give the whole space a calm, open feel.

Beyond the kitchen, a large timber unit brings together a custom bar, built-in w**e and beverage fridges, a hidden television, and storage for games and tableware, all resolved into one seamless piece.

Our role was to carefully carry the design through into the finished cabinetry, resolving the finishes, proportions and practical details so every element works as beautifully as it looks.
Joinery that fits the build. Honours the vision. And works for the people who live in it.

Not everything we build is a straight line.

Cam is hand-building a curved cabinet carcass from the ground up. Watching this take shape is something else.

This is bespoke joinery at its most satisfying.

THINKING ABOUT YOUR NEXT MOVE?

We’ve created a new and exciting role here at Andy Ryan Joinery, and we’re on the hunt for our next exceptional person.

We’re looking for a Contracts Administrator / Estimator to join our team and play a key role in some of Melbourne’s most exciting architectural joinery projects.

Maybe you’re already working in the industry and wondering what your next step looks like.

Maybe you’re ready for more responsibility, more involvement in the projects you’re working on, and a team that values what you bring to the table.

If you’ve got experience in joinery, estimating, contracts administration or project coordination, we’d love to talk.

You don’t have to be actively looking.
Sometimes the right opportunity just comes along.

Think it could be you? Get in touch.

There's something satisfying about watching a router do its thing.

Slow it down, and suddenly you can see exactly what precision looks like in motion, every pass controlled, every cut intentional.

This is the detail that lives inside every piece of custom joinery we build. Most people never see it. But it's always there.

Nothing leaves this workshop until it's right.

Before any piece of joinery heads out the door, it goes through a final check, every edge, every joint, every finish inspected against the spec.

It's the last line of defence between the workshop and the client. And it's non-negotiable.

This is the part of the process nobody sees, but it's the part that makes everything else worth it.

The Eltham house is a project close to our hearts, a beautiful family home for one of our own. With the finish line in sight, we had all hands on deck for the final push to get this family through the door.

Every shelf. Every cabinet. Every last detail, done with the same care we bring to every project, and then some.

Welcome home, Andy and your family

The finish is where the craft really shows.

This is the final stage before a piece leaves our workshop, applying the finish by hand, ensuring every grain, edge, and joint is treated with the same level of care as the joinery itself.

It's a slower process, but it's non-negotiable. The right finish protects the timber, brings out its natural character, and is often the difference between a piece that looks good on day one and one that still looks incredible years down the track.

Custom joinery isn't just about the build, it's every detail, right through to the last coat.

Ever wondered how we keep dozens of projects moving at once? This is how.

Our workshop runs on controlled workflow systems, daily production tracking, go/no-go quality checkpoints, and carefully managed work-in-progress.

Every job has a clear place in the process. Every stage is monitored. Nothing moves forward unless it's ready.

It might look like a lot of paper and numbers, but this is the system behind some of the shortest lead times in the industry, without compromising on quality.

Getting to know the team, one question at a time.

We pulled the guys away from their benchers for a quick Q&A.

This is the team behind every cut, join, and finish that goes into your custom joinery, and honestly? They're just as fun in person as they are skilled in the workshop.

Get to know the faces behind Andyryan.

Would you like to see more of these? If so, let us know in the comments below and drop any questions you would like the team to answer, and we might just ask the team next time.
