Compliance Isn't the Same as Capacity!

Late one Friday night, we received an emergency call-out to a local restaurant after their switchboard caught fire.

The existing switchboard was compliant when it was originally installed. However, over time the electrical demands of modern commercial appliances have increased significantly. Once the restaurant's equipment was operating, the load placed on the ageing switchboard exceeded what it was designed to handle, resulting in a serious switchboard fire.

Our team responded immediately, isolated the danger, made the site safe and worked closely with the business to minimise downtime. Thanks to a fast response and a coordinated effort, the restaurant was back open and serving customers by Sunday.

Since then, we've continued working with the owners to ensure the installation is fit for purpose by carrying out:
✅ Switchboard rectification works
✅ Electrical load monitoring
✅ A mains upgrade to safely support their equipment
✅ Planning for future electrical capacity
