Arrrgggg netting! 😑😑😑🀬🀬🀬

This poor tree snake died a horrible, slow painful death after getting caught up in netting.

If you have netting over your trees or garden, please be responsible and check it every day for trapped animals.

The more they fight to free themselves, the more they tangle and it cuts deeper and deeper into them. They eventually either die from open wounds or cook under the hot sun.

Just went to collect a poor little Eastern Brown Snake who was stuck in a water filtration pond, turned up just in time to save this little fella from drowning! Poor little thing is totally exhausted, head was going under water when I arrived, so jumped in the water and got it safely in a nice warm dry bag, on the way to a Macropod specialist for some recovery time now!

Snakes In The City don't just rescue snakes, we love all animals!

But, if you need a snake or reptile removed from your house or property, call Snakes In The City on 0411103488!

UPDATE: Turns out it was a little girl, 5kg, must have fallen in and the mother has been forced to abandon with no other option to save her... she was so exhausted when i got there, her little head was going under and she was just about to give up. Had no time to waste waiting around, so emptied the pockets and jumped in... water was deeper than me, but i hung onto the grill you see in the pic and lifted her out in one of my arms with me climbing out with the other... got her in bag and took her straight to the specialized roo carer and she is being looked after now :)

Shower time at Snakes In The City HQ! πŸ˜‚

This poor guy needed some stitches and requires antibiotics and anti inflammatory for the next week or so, so the daily opportunity to have a drink of fresh water, whilst otherwise keeping him dry and warm is important!

A little supervised time with the shower running gives him that chance to have a little drink each day during his quiet recovery, as it would be nice to get him back out there chasing the girls as soon as possible!

*Gore Alert!*

Unfortunately we often get called to collect snakes that have been attacked by dogs and cats.

This poor Red Belly Black had to be euthanized this afternoon due to having half its face chewed off by a dog :(

Its graphic, but I show it in the hope that it might draw some much needed attention to the problems that dogs and cats are causing to our native wildlife.

Thanks to David and Michelle @ NorthShoreVet.com.au for their dedication, time and expertise in helping injured native wildlife, you guys are awesome!
