Kitchen and dining from a recent first floor addition and renovation in Botany.

This project came with a very clear vision from the client, with a strong focus on practical spaces and reducing waste where possible.

We worked together to reuse materials throughout the build, including retaining timber from the original home which was later crafted by the client into the kitchen island bench.

It’s always nice seeing parts of an existing home carried through into the finished spaces rather than everything being replaced. Those little details often end up being the most meaningful over time.

Part of a recent first floor addition in Botany.

Adding extra space like this can make a big difference to how a home is used day to day.

Bedrooms, bathrooms and additional living areas tend to take pressure off the rest of the house and give everyone a bit more room to move.

Simple changes, but ones that shift how the whole home works.

Feels like a good week for this one…

With all the rain around, covered outdoor areas like this tend to get used more than you’d think.

Even on pretty average Sydney days you usually get a break in the weather, so having something that’s a bit protected makes it easier to still use the space.

It often ends up being one of the most used parts of the house.

The question that keeps Sydney homeowners up at night: "Should we renovate or move?"

Growing families are finding themselves stuck at a crossroads, asking two massive questions:

Will we actually find a better place out there, or just inherit someone else's design flaws?

Can we take the home we already love and tailor it perfectly to our family, without breaking the bank?

The Reality Check: You don't just lose money when you buy a new house—you lose your neighbourhood, your school run, and your community. Latest Tip on Home renovations and Extension is now up on the website. We explore why homeowners are choosing to renovate.

Sydney homeowners are choosing to invest in home renovations and home extensions in Sydney to make their existing home work better for their evolving lifestyle.

Not every project needs to be done all at once.

We’re seeing more people take a staged approach, focusing on what’s needed now and allowing the rest to follow over time.

For a lot of clients, that takes some of the pressure off decision making, and often leads to more considered outcomes.

A quick one for Glen’s birthday — even though he’ll definitely hate the attention.

He’s the one behind the Friday calls each week, keeping clients updated on how things are progressing and what to expect next.

He’s also a stickler for quality and takes a lot of pride in making sure things are done properly on site.

It’s a big part of why our clients enjoy the process as much as they do.

Happy birthday, Glen

Not everything needs to be reworked for a home to feel right.

Often it’s about seeing what already works. The proportions, the light, and the parts of the home that give it character. Then building on that rather than starting again.

For a lot of people, there’s also a balance between what they’d like to do and what makes sense right now. Focusing on the areas that matter most can still lead to a home that feels right and works well day to day.

It’s not about doing more, just doing the right things.

As the weather starts to cool, it’s often the parts of a home you don’t think about as much that you begin to notice more.

Spaces that feel comfortable, warm, and easy to settle into start to matter a bit more day to day.

A lot of that comes down to decisions made earlier on — how light is softened, how a room is layered, and the small details that help everything feel settled.

They’re not always the things you notice straight away, but they make a real difference over time.

We were very grateful to receive the feedback below following the completion of this renovation.

“After moving from the country to Sydney, we relied on local recommendations to find a builder we could trust while managing renovations to our 1950s family home from a distance. Rossmark was the name we kept hearing — and after seeing a few completed projects, we looked no further.

From our first meeting through to completion, we were impressed by the professionalism, patience, kindness, and attention to detail throughout the process. We felt included and informed at every stage, and the whole team were fantastic.

We are absolutely delighted with our ‘new’ ‘old’ home and have no hesitation in recommending Rossmark. We love it.”

This shower room took shape through time spent together reviewing selections and talking through what felt right for the home.

A favourite tile choice became the starting point, with the space gradually resolved around clarity, comfort, and ease over time. The layout is straightforward, the detailing is restrained, and the finishes were chosen to sit quietly within the home.

Often, it’s this measured, collaborative approach that results in spaces which feel settled from the outset.
