It all started with a shower hob… 🔨😂

Hubby decided he’d have a crack at removing it himself.

One broken tile later… and somehow we ended up renovating the entire bathroom. 😅

Fast forward roughly 4 weeks, and this lovely couple now have a completely transformed bathroom — built properly, beautifully finished, and hopefully with hubby’s demolition tools safely put away. 😂

Sometimes the best renovations start with, “I’ll just fix this one little thing…”

A little behind the scenes look at this deck rebuild.

The existing posts were still in good condition and could be retained, but replacing the rotten bearers underneath them required some careful tweaking from the boys.

With the bearers and joists now taking shape, the deck is ready for the next stage- including a brand-new roof over the top.

It’s not finished yet, but it’s already looking a whole lot healthier! Stay tuned for the final results!

🚧 NEW PROJECT KICK-OFF | OLD BAR 🚧

Nothing says “yep, it’s definitely time for a new deck” quite like Toby carefully balancing on the rotten bearers. 😅🫣

We’ve kicked off another transformation in Old Bar with a brand-new deck + awning on the way — and judging by what we’ve uncovered, the timing couldn’t be better!

Of course, I arrived with coffees for the boys… purely out of kindness and absolutely NOT an attempt to make them work even faster! 👀☕️😂

Demo underway. Coffees delivered. Toby still upright.

Proud moment for our team.

Awards nights are never about one person. They’re about the people who show up every day, solve problems, and put in the work behind the scenes.

Tomorrow I have the privilege of representing the teams at Caiban Electrical and Distinctive Building Co. as finalists in the 2026 Business Awards.

Whatever happens tomorrow night, it’s a great chance to celebrate everything we’ve achieved together over the past 12 months..

Designed with history. Built for the future. 🚌✨

One of my favourite parts of this project was taking an idea from SketchUp and watching it become reality.

The brief wasn’t just to create a functional workspace. It was to design an office that reflected nearly a century of family history while giving the next generation a space they could be proud to call home.

The finishing touch? A feature wall celebrating Eggins’ great-grandfather alongside a collection of their iconic 1940s buses—a daily reminder of where it all began.

From a digital model to the real thing… this one came together beautifully. 💚

Some projects are remembered for the challenges.
Some are remembered for the result.

This one will be remembered for both.

We transformed this old asbestos balcony into a generous 2-metre-wide outdoor entertaining space featuring composite decking, a new awning and modern balustrading.

The journey wasn’t without a few bumps in the road, but great clients make all the difference. The owner stuck with us, trusted the vision, and now has a balcony that completely changes the way this home feels and functions.

Worth it? We think so. 🙌🏻

From SketchUp dreams… to controlled chaos…

This one’s not your average reno. Remember our Day 1 reel a couple weeks back?
What started as a full-house concept on the iPad is now very much a real-life “there’s no turning back now” situation.

✔️ Walls down
✔️ Demo dust everywhere
✔️ Timber going up
✔️ Power points and lighting cables galore
✔️ Our brains already 14 steps ahead imagining the finished spaces

The fun part about renovations like this?
Most people only see the mess… we see the lighting, the flow, the hidden storage, the little luxury details and the way this home is about to completely change how our clients live.

Right now it’s giving “construction site chic” — but trust us, this one’s going to be something special, it is the life dream coming true for our beloved clients.

From outdated and cramped… to sleek, functional and seriously sexy. 👏

This ensuite was extra special for us — not only because of the transformation, but because it’s the very first ensuite where we installed our new sensor night lighting package. Soft lighting automatically guides the way at night without needing harsh overhead lights on. One of those small details that makes a huge difference. ✨

We’re so grateful to our clients for trusting Mia, Tony and the DBC team with their home and vision. Hearing that we made the process feel easy and stress-free honestly means the world to us. 🤍
