📚 Monthly Team Meeting + Termidor Accreditation💚

Our latest monthly team meeting came with a little extra value thanks to Andrew from BASF Pest Control AU , who joined us to take the team through their Termidor Accreditation and give us a closer look at the Termidor High Pressure Device (HPD).

The HPD is designed for use with Termidor HE, allowing treatment drill spacings of up to 600mm while still achieving thorough coverage — meaning fewer drill points and less disruption to the structure.

It was a great opportunity for the team to refresh their knowledge, ask questions and get hands-on with the equipment.

Ongoing training like this is a big part of how we keep our standards high and make sure our technicians are confident using the latest termite management technology.

Before getting down to business, the team had a chance to catch up over a feed. Thanks to Tash for preparing the yummy beef burgers 🍔😄

🎉Happy 4 Year Work-a-versary Brenton.💚

Brenton has grown into a key part of LPE — bringing plenty of knowledge, personality and commitment to the job, while always being up for a laugh.

It’s been a big few years, both professionally and personally, with Brenton most recently stepping into a leadership role as our Operations Manager. Watching him take on the role and really thrive has been fantastic.

Happy 4-year work-a-versary, Brenton! We’re lucky to have you and can’t wait to see what year five brings.👏

🧇 This Week’s Wednesday Waffle – Rhysy the Ringtail Wrangler! 🐾🦸‍♂️

Today on the Wednesday Waffle, we’ve got Rhysy the Ringtail Possum Wrangler!

This poor little possum appears to have been hit by a car in Port Macquarie. Thankfully, Rhys was in the right place at the right time to safely collect it and get it to a local vet for some much-needed special attention. 🏥🐾

Pest management can take us to some interesting places and put us in some unusual situations. Sometimes the job isn’t about controlling wildlife — it’s simply about lending a hand when it’s needed. 💚

👋 Pestie Profile | Meet Scott G! 💚

Next up in our Pestie Profile series is Scott.

As one of our Training Supervisors, Scott plays a big role in developing the next generation of pest technicians. Alongside looking after his own customers, he's helping pass on the skills, knowledge and attention to detail that Local Pest Experts is known for.

Apart of the Local Pest Experts team for 2.5 years and is passionate about doing the job right. His advice for our customers?

💬 "Good work ain't cheap, cheap work ain't good."

Taking shortcuts isn't his style. Whether it's a routine general pest service or a complex termite job, he believes quality workmanship and honest advice always pay off.

🗞️ EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! 👀

A huge thanks to Tim from for uncovering this copy of the Extra newspaper from 2008 on a construction site — featuring some very familiar faces amongst its pages. 😂

Long before Local Pest Experts came to be in 2016, some of our team were already working in the local pest control industry as part of the former Amalgamated Pest Control franchise.

As we approach 10 years of Local Pest Experts this October, finding this feels particularly special.

So much has changed over the years — the name, the uniforms, the utes and certainly the size of the team — but there are people, relationships and community connections woven into LPE that go back well beyond our 10 years.

It’s a pretty special reminder of where we came from, how far we’ve come and the people who have been part of the journey along the way. 💚

Thanks for saving this one for us, Tim. Straight to the LPE archives — and a very timely addition as we get ready to celebrate a decade of Local Pest Experts. 📰🥹

🔦 Learning today. Protecting homes tomorrow — Part 2. 🐜

A few weeks ago we shared Jacob kicking off his Timber Pest Training in the classroom. Now, the learning has moved under the house! 👀

Here he is out in the field putting that theory into practice, getting a firsthand look at termite damage to flooring and timber piers and learning what our technicians are looking for during a thorough timber pest inspection.

This is exactly why we combine theory with real-world, hands-on experience. There’s only so much you can learn from a screen — sometimes you need to get into the subfloor and see it for yourself!

Another step forward for Jacob, with plenty more field experience still to come. 💚👏

🧇 This Week’s Wednesday Waffle – Meet Nasutitermes walkeri 🐜🌳

This week we’re taking a closer look at one of Trent’s favourites — Nasutitermes walkeri.

They’re certainly not our most destructive termite species, but they are an incredibly abundant one, and once you know what you’re looking for, they can be pretty easy to spot. 👀

One of their giveaways is the healthy, thick and dark shelter tubes running up the side of trees, providing a protected highway all the way up to their penthouse — an arboreal nest high in the tree. 🌳🏢

They’re also a heap of fun to observe! These guys are courageous little termites and can work incredibly quickly when their shelter tubes are disturbed. That means we often get the opportunity to play around with them and demonstrate some really cool termite behaviour. 🐜🔍

🐀 Rodent season is well and truly here… and they’re hungry. 👀

How hungry? This little visitor has gnawed on the bait station itself trying to get to the bait inside. 😳

But the bigger concern is what happens once rodents make their way indoors. The second photo shows rodent droppings inside a food warmer — definitely not the extra seasoning anyone ordered. 🤢

Rodents don’t just cause damage; their presence around food preparation and storage areas creates a very real contamination and food safety concern.

Prevention starts with reducing food sources, limiting access points and addressing activity before it becomes an established problem.

Whether it’s your home or business, if you’re noticing droppings, gnaw marks, noises or other signs of activity, it’s worth acting early.🐭

Pest control, it’s just maintenance. 💚
