FPG’s John and Owen had a fantastic time at the Beaudesert State High School School Expo! 👋

It was great to connect with students, hand out a few FPG showbags 🎒, have some fun with our plumbing games 🔧, and most importantly, chat with the next generation about the exciting opportunities available in the plumbing and trades industry.

Events like these are a great reminder of the importance of connecting students with real-world careers and showing them that there are plenty of pathways to a rewarding future in the trades.

🌳 Remember those tree roots from yesterday’s video? Here’s what came out of the pipe! 😳

Yesterday we showed our team hard at work removing a serious tree root blockage from a customer’s drainage system.

Now here’s a look at exactly what we pulled out. 👇

That entire mass of compacted roots was growing inside the pipe, restricting the flow and causing ongoing drainage issues.

Tree roots can enter through small cracks or joins in underground pipes and, once they find a water source, they keep growing. Over time, they can form a thick, compacted blockage like this one.

If your drains are:
🔧 Slow to empty
🔧 Gurgling
🔧 Backing up
🔧 Blocking repeatedly

…it could be a sign there’s something bigger happening underground.

🌳 When tree roots take over your pipes…

Check out the size of these compacted tree roots we pulled from this drainage line! 😳

Tree roots naturally chase moisture, and once they find even the smallest entry point into a pipe, they can quickly grow and compact until the line is severely restricted — or completely blocked.

✅ Roots removed
✅ Pipe cleared
✅ Drainage flowing again

If your drains are slow, gurgling, backing up or repeatedly blocking, tree roots could be the culprit.
