Congratulations to Aaron, Kevin, Sonya and the Nivek Group VIC (NIVEK Security Doors), winner of Best Installation – Residential at the 2026 NSSA National Awards for this exceptional home in Rye, Victoria.

The project involved creating a custom Amplimesh solution for a glazed walkway and stair connection linking the existing home with a new extension, and It was anything but straightforward!

The unconventional structure featured multiple angles, varying dimensions and custom cut-outs, all while the screening solution needed to meet BAL-FZ bushfire requirements without compromising the home's open, light-filled architectural design.

Several other suppliers had been approached but were unable to take on the project. Nivek Group saw the challenge differently. Through careful consideration, detailed site measurement and custom design and fabrication, the team developed a solution that delivered the required level of protection while preserving natural light, airflow and views through the walkway.

The result is a striking example of how security screens can be so much more than a standard installation - solving complex design challenges, protecting the home and enhancing the way the space can be used and enjoyed.

Congratulations to CSI: Chalmers Security Installations QLD, our Highly Commended recipient in the Best Installation – Residential category, 2026 NSSA National Awards.

The scale of this residential project was impressive, but it was the technical complexity that really set it apart.

With large-format sliding, stacking and central-opening doors, some panels reaching 2.6 metres high, six windows requiring fire-escape functionality and BAL considerations, CSI had to carefully balance security, occupant safety, compliance, functionality and architectural design.

The client wanted no midrails across the large door openings, creating clean, uninterrupted views and a seamless aesthetic. CSI developed a custom Prowler Proof screening solution that met those requirements, while ensuring strength, smooth operation and visual consistency throughout the home.

The result is seamlessly integrated security screening that enhances the home rather than competing with it, whilst preserving natural light, airflow and uninterrupted views while improving the overall liveability, safety and security of the home.

It’s a great example of what can be achieved when technical expertise, thoughtful design, attention to detail and great security screening products come together on a complex residential project.

Congratulations to Central Screens WA, winner of Best Installation – Commercial at the 2026 NSSA National Awards for their work on Nicholson Train Station.

This project showcases what is possible when security screening is thoughtfully designed into large-scale public infrastructure.

From managing a complex design and challenging site conditions through to specialised requirements and critical project timeframes, the Central Screens team delivered an outstanding result, with careful project management, quality workmanship and attention to detail throughout.

At Nicholson Station, the Amplimesh security screening has been seamlessly integrated into the design of the station while supporting the needs of a busy public transport environment.
It’s a great example of how our industry’s expertise can be applied well beyond the traditional residential market, delivering practical security and functionality solutions across major public and commercial infrastructure.

Congratulations to Blair, Grant and the Guardian Screens and Shutters Team QLD, who were awarded Highly Commended for Best Installation - Commercial, Yeronga Community Centre - at the 2026 NSSA National Awards.

This was far from a straightforward installation. Guardian had to work within the existing structural features of the building while also considering accessibility, security, functionality and the practical requirements of a busy community facility.

Careful consideration of the existing conditions, attention to detail and a focus on usability resulted in a Crimsafe installation that demonstrates exactly what great commercial security screening should deliver: security, functionality and seamless integration.

Congratulations to Wayne and Rodney at Althaus Security Screens & Doors QLD, winner of the Best Installation - $7k Retail or Less Category at the 2026 NSSA National Awards.

This project is a great example of what can be achieved when a challenging application is approached with creative thinking, attention to detail and a focus on the way the finished solution actually works for the customer.

The Althaus team rethought the installation from the ground up, creating a one-off Crimsafe security screen solution that improved the home's security while maintaining usability, quality and a clean finished result.
