Breathing new life into an ageing asset at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Our latest roofing works involved a full metal roof replacement, along with the replacement of an existing tiled roof that had reached the end of its service life with a new metal roofing system.

The project also included a new height safety system and roof access hatch, providing safer and more practical access for ongoing maintenance.

A great result for the Canopy team, extending the life of an important NSW Health asset for many years to come.

Progress at our Gordon remedial project.

The existing rooftop membrane had reached the end of its serviceable life and is now being fully stripped back in preparation for a new Fatra sheet membrane roofing system, incorporating insulation boards beneath the membrane.

Careful removal and substrate preparation are key to ensuring the new system delivers a durable, high-performance waterproofing solution for the building.

Finding the source before starting the repair.

Our team recently completed controlled rooftop flood testing to help identify the source of ongoing water ingress caused by a failed waterproofing membrane.

By testing isolated areas in stages and monitoring the building below, we can accurately locate the point of failure, confirm the extent of the issue and develop an appropriate rectification methodology—avoiding unnecessary demolition and guesswork.

From demolition to practical completion. ✅

We’re proud to have reached Practical Completion on this significant remedial project in Castle Hill, delivering a comprehensive upgrade to one of the building’s most critical assets.

Our scope of works included:
• Demolition of existing tiles, screeds and waterproofing to extensive rooftop terraces and balconies
• Installation of new high-performance waterproofing systems
• Commercial-grade replacement glazing
• New cavity flashings to improve long-term weatherproofing
• Rooftop hardscaping and finishes
• Reconstruction of planter boxes
• Craning and installation of a 10-person luxury spa

Projects of this scale demand detailed planning, technical expertise and a commitment to quality at every stage. From waterproofing and glazing through to complex cranage operations and premium finishes, every element was completed with a focus on durability, compliance and exceptional workmanship.

At our Castle Hill project, each newly installed commercial-grade glazing system undergoes comprehensive water spray testing to verify the integrity of the installation before handover. These tests are a critical part of our QA process, helping to confirm that the window and door systems, seals, flashings and interfaces are performing as intended under simulated weather conditions.
