The Local Plug The Local Plug is a Sydney-based electrical business specialising in electrical maintenance work for residential, commercial, strata and real estate clients.

It began with two mates with a strong desire to change the image of tradies and provide exceptional service. As a team of electricians based in the Inner West of Sydney, we understand the need of everyday people struggling to find good, reliable and trustworthy electricians. Two installations done, and it’s not even 9:30 in the morning! ⚡👏

Seb and Dylan are getting the day off to a flying start, and Grazi is impressed. Two jobs ticked off before most people have properly settled into their morning coffee. ☕😂

Next up? A brand-new induction cooktop to replace the old one that’s seen better days. 🍳

Everything’s looking good until they hit a little snag. The new cooktop doesn’t quite fit the existing cut-out, thanks to those pesky little notches.

But that’s tradie life! Sometimes the job goes exactly to plan, and sometimes you need a little problem-solving and teamwork to get everything sitting just right. 🔧🙌

And to all the online cowboys claiming they could do it in 10 minutes... we see you. 😂

Seb and Dylan have clearly been waiting for their chance to get back at David. 😂🔧

Grazi starts by asking Seb how long it should take to install a fan.
His answer? 20–25 minutes. ⏱️
But apparently, even that isn't fast enough!

Then comes the real question: how long would David take?
And suddenly, Seb and Dylan have a LOT to say. 🤣

Three hours on the job, taking phone calls, doing squats, heading to the vet, ordering Uber Eats... basically, everything except installing the fan. 💀😂

With David out of the picture, the boys are taking full advantage of their moment. And honestly, can you blame them?

It's a good time to get back at David while he's not there to defend himself! 😂👑

Grazi asks the questions, Seb and Dylan deliver the roast, and David's reputation takes another hit. ⚡🤣

David disappears for a few weeks, and apparently, The Local Plug runs like a dream without him. 😂👏

No drama. No late finishes. Everyone home early. Smooth sailing all round!
That’s Seb’s version, anyway. 👀

Then we start asking questions… and suddenly there’s talk of a burst appendix, 12 to 13-hour days, and a team that barely survived. 💀🤣

David’s verdict? THEY SURVIVED.
Seb’s defense? Everything was totally fine!

And David? He’s back now, so we can only imagine what he’s going to say about those “perfectly smooth” weeks without him. 😂⚡

And the plot twist?
Seb’s been into older music since he was 17.
So this isn’t just an apprentice going through a phase.
It’s a lifestyle. 😂

When a unit lighting upgrade turns into a complete electrical transformation. ⚡🏠

This place had an old smart switching system that was ready to go, so instead of trying to work around it, the team is converting everything back to conventional wiring. 🔧

That means rewiring the existing downlights 💡, installing new switches, relocating one exhaust fan, adding another, and upgrading the bedrooms with new ceiling fans. 🌬️

And once all that wiring is sorted, the difference really starts to show. 👌

New switches on the walls, rewired downlights, new exhaust fans, new ceiling fans and a much simpler conventional setup throughout the unit. ✨

One big upgrade, a lot of wiring, and a completely refreshed electrical setup throughout the unit. ⚡🏡

Another job finished well, with everything rewired, upgraded and ready to go. 👌✨

New EV charger day at The Local Plug. ⚡🚗

Dylan’s just pulled up, ready to get another charger installed and commissioned.

Although, according to David in the background, there’s one small issue...
Dylan showed up late. 😂

Late arrival aside, the job is underway and another EV charger is getting ready to keep someone’s car charged and ready to go.

That’s the thing about EV charger installations. It’s not just about mounting the charger on the wall. The right setup, wiring and commissioning all matter to make sure everything is ready to charge safely.

Sometimes you don’t choose the trade. You just sort of fall into it. 😂⚡

For Dylan, becoming an electrician wasn’t exactly a lifelong plan. He knew university wasn’t for him, didn’t really know what he wanted to do, and kept hearing that getting into a trade was a good option.

Then a family connection gave him the opportunity to give electrical a go.
Five years later, he’s still here.

And when asked if he ever wishes he could do something else?
“Sometimes.”
Fair enough. We all do. 😂

The conversation then takes a slight turn when Dylan admits that he and Seb are both a little bit like princesses.

And apparently, when it comes to princess behaviour, David takes the crown. 👑😂

From not knowing what he wanted to do to five years in the electrical trade... not a bad way to accidentally find your career.

You never quite know what you’re going to discover when you’re working in a roof space.

David thought he’d found a bird nesting away, so naturally he had a closer look...

Only to discover a very unexpected tenant hiding inside. 😳

A rat.

And judging by David’s reaction, this was definitely not the kind of site visit he had planned for the day. 😂

Electrical work: expected.

Random wildlife inspection: apparently included at no extra charge.

A TV wall looks simple until you add a soundbar, and suddenly everything needs to line up perfectly. 📺🔊

For this setup, David and Seb are getting the TV and soundbar mounted together, with the positions marked out first so everything sits where it should.

Because when you’re mounting two things on the same wall, “close enough” isn’t really the look we’re going for. 😂

Now it’s time to get everything up on the wall.

And, naturally, there’s also a quick discussion about whether the TV legs should be kept for future use. Always thinking ahead. 😂
