The walkthrough | North Narrabeen.

This project came together through a great team. Landscaping and design by Vision Landscapes and Horticulture Pty Ltd., with the overall design managed by SITEDESIGN+STUDIOS. The pool itself is a prefabricated, fully tiled concrete shell manufactured by Precast Pools in Newcastle.

Installation made the most of rear access to the property, with a crane used to lift and position the pool into place. Eight screw piers were driven approximately five metres into the sand, with concrete pads poured on top to create a stable base for the shell to sit on.

A great result, made possible by a great team.

The most common questions we get asked before a renovation begins.

How long does a pool renovation take? Most projects run between six and eight weeks depending on the scope of structural work, finish selection, and equipment installation.

Do I need to empty the pool first? Yes. A full renovation requires the pool to be drained so the shell, substrate, and hydraulics can be properly assessed and worked on.

Can you renovate without replacing the existing equipment? Sometimes. We assess the existing pump, filter, and sanitisation system as part of every scope. If the equipment is still performing correctly and suits the pool size, it stays. If not, we will recommend what needs upgrading and why.

How do I know if my pool needs structural work before a resurface? We assess this on site. Surface finishes applied over structural issues will not last. Getting the diagnosis right is what separates a renovation that lasts from one that needs to be done again in five years.

If you have a question we have not answered here, contact us today and we will walk you through it.

Introducing Turramurra.

This project started with a pool that could not circulate water correctly, fencing mounted mid-coping that blocked access to the full perimeter, and no connection between the pool environment and the home.

We repositioned the pool returns to achieve correct hydraulic balance, relocated the fencing to a side-mounted configuration, fully retiled the interior with tiles cut and finished directly against the natural rock face, and built a custom timber deck with an integrated concealed blanket box at the pool end. The patio threshold was tiled to match the pool surround, creating a seamless visual flow from the shell through to the home interior.

The result is a pool that finally works, and a space that feels considered from every angle.

Before & After Transformation | Turramurra

This pool had incorrect water circulation due to poorly positioned returns, fencing mounted mid-coping that reduced the usable perimeter, poor surface drainage, and no connection between the pool and home interior.

We repositioned the pool returns to achieve correct hydraulic balance, relocated the fencing to free the full coping perimeter, fully retiled the interior including a technically demanding tile finish cut directly against the natural rock face, and built a carpenter-constructed timber deck with an integrated concealed blanket box. The patio threshold was tiled to match the pool surround, creating continuity from the pool shell through to the home.

A standout result built on a foundation of getting the fundamentals right first.

The pools that cost the most to renovate are usually the ones that waited the longest.

Surface issues become structural issues. Rust spreads. Waterproofing fails. Equipment that was already marginal eventually stops performing entirely.

The best time to renovate is before you have no choice. A proper assessment costs nothing and gives you a clear picture of what the pool actually needs, before small problems become expensive ones.

We offer free site assessments for homeowners across Sydney.

Coogee | Material Breakdown

The Coogee project required a complete interior strip and reline before any finish work could begin. Once the substrate was correctly prepared and waterproofed, the client-supplied tiles were relaid to the correct pattern and specification across the full interior.

The equipment scope included a Madimack EV3 40kW three-phase heat pump, a crushed glass sand filter, and a Sunbather custom automated pool cover with remote-controlled retraction.

Every material decision on this project was made to solve a problem, not just improve aesthetics. The finish is the last step, not the first.

Most pool renovations start with a question.

Is the shell still sound? What does the substrate actually look like? Can the existing equipment handle what the pool needs?

The answers shape everything - the scope, the timeline, the finish, and the long-term performance of the pool. That is why we assess before we quote, and plan before we build.

If you are thinking about renovating your pool in 2026, now is the time to start that conversation.
