Some timber is bought.
Some timber is found.
And some timber carries a story that can never be replaced.
This River Redgum burl came from the Griffith swamps.
Estimated 500+ years old.
4.2 metres long.
Up to 2.2 metres wide.
85 mm thick.
A one-of-a-kind piece in Australia.
The second image shows the slab as it originally came to us.
Raw.
Heavy.
Weathered.
Full of natural character.
The images after that show what happens when rare timber is not simply cut up...
but understood.
Prepared.
Designed.
Shaped.
Finished.
Built into something that can stay in a family for generations.
That is the difference between making furniture and creating a legacy piece.
We are now accepting one private commission around this slab.
If you have a home that deserves a statement piece, this may be the one.
