This week, we were thrilled to officially open the Bondi Medicare Mental Health Centre!

Since opening in a temporary location in January, our team has delivered over 1,000 occasions of care to people across the Eastern Suburbs. Now, that vital support has a permanent home.

Thank you to Assistant Minister by Emma McBride MP , Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, The JNC, The Jewish House and everyone who helped make this happen. This is a huge milestone for our community, and is proof of what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.

Free, accessible mental health support is here, when and where our community needs it.

As NAIDOC Week 2026 comes to a close, we want to say thank you.
Thank you to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for sharing your culture, your
stories, and your strength, not just this week, but always.
50 Years of Deadly is a milestone worth celebrating. And it's a reminder that
reconciliation isn't a week; it's a daily commitment.
We're excited to share that our Reconciliation Action Plan has reached the Innovate
stage and is conditionally approved: a huge milestone for our RAP Working Group and
for New Horizons. We can't wait to share more.

This week, we proudly celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026: 50 Years of Deadly.

For 50 years, NAIDOC Week has been a platform for truth-telling, celebration, and the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme honours the Elders, advocates, artists, and communities who have carried this movement and continue to do so.

At New Horizons, we're proud to stand alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and to reflect on our own commitments to reconciliation. More on that later this week.

This Refugee Week (14–20 June), we're proud to stand with the communities we support through our CLSR program: Community Living Supports for Refugees.

In partnership with STARTTS, our CLSR team provides free, culturally appropriate mental health and wellbeing support to refugees and people seeking asylum across NSW.

We're also excited to share Welcoming Creativity — a community-led art exhibition we hosted at the Laneway Gallery in Coffs Harbour this week. On Gumbaynggirr Country, people from First Nations, refugee, migrant and local backgrounds have come together to share culture through textiles, weaving and painting.

It's a space for stories of identity, resilience and everyday joy, and a reminder of the many cultures that make Coffs Harbour home.

This Men's Mental Health Week, we want to introduce you to Nick. Nick is a peer worker with our i.am program in Tamworth. Growing up as a bloke in a country town, he knows firsthand what it means to come from a background where men don't talk about things.

Now he's helping change that for the next generation — playing basketball, kicking a footy, going for walks — finding what works for each young person and building trust from there.

"It's very much something I wish I had when I was a kid."

i.am is NSW's first child and youth specific su***de aftercare program co-produced by children and young people.

In this video, we sit down with Nick, one of our i.am peer workers based in Tamworth, to talk about what this support looks like in real life and how we support young people when they need it most.

National Reconciliation Week is here, and it is a time for all of us at New Horizons to reflect, learn, and grow together.

Reconciliation isn't just about a single week on the calendar; it is about the everyday choices we make to listen, show respect, and walk alongside First Nations people.

Krystal Donovan, our First Nations Ambassador, shared a powerful reflection on what this time means:

"To me, reconciliation is grounded in education, collaboration, and unity. These are essential not only to reflect on our shared history, but to understand how we can move forward together and build a future that is inclusive and not divided."
