Cyclone Alfred - Responding with Agility and Resilience

We pride ourselves on being a steadfast and trusted partner—particularly in times of crisis. When Cyclone Alfred struck southern Queensland and northern New South Wales in early March, our team responded with speed, care, and professionalism.
Over a concentrated five-day period, we actioned 938 work orders across 320 client sites in the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions.

This response was made possible through:
• Strategic resourcing of our helpdesk and after-hours teams to manage the surge in emergency requests
• Deployment of additional field teams outside standard hours to carry out make-safes and remedial works
• Proactive preparation, including warehousing additional stock such as generators, ensuring readiness when supply chains were strained

We extend our sincere thanks to our entire team for their commitment during this challenging time—particularly our local trade staff, many of whom were supporting the recovery efforts while managing the personal impacts to their own homes and families.

Take another look at our recently completed project at Australia Post Beresfield MC, where we delivered a comprehensive upgrade and refurbishment of a 1,850m² facility in just 11 weeks.

he project focused on enhancing operational efficiency and safety by installing a new steel structure to house a mail sorting area and bike shed and modernising the facility's mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable and functional work environment.

Key improvements included the installation of new lighting, power and data infrastructure, and an upgraded electrical switchboard. The interior was updated with new ceiling tiles in the sorting area, fresh paint, and slip-resistant flooring to ensure safety. Additional facility enhancements included the construction of new change rooms, internal offices, and the upgrading of lunchroom and kitchenette areas.

Welcoming Brett Denford to Modus!

We’re pleased to welcome Brett Denford as our new Head of Service Delivery within the Facilities Maintenance team, based at Modus HQ in Sydney.

Brett brings 15+ years of experience in trade services and facilities maintenance, with a strong track record in business process optimisation, strategic planning, and change management. A dynamic leader, he is known for developing and executing solutions that enhance operational excellence and service delivery.

In this role, Brett will serve as the key technical link between our Facilities Maintenance Office, internal Trade Team, and subcontractor network, ensuring seamless service delivery in line with our SLAs. He will also act as a technical liaison for clients, maintaining high service quality and customer satisfaction, while supporting procurement and new business opportunities.
