Not all tree jobs are created equal. 🌳🏗️

Some projects call for a different approach—like working alongside NZ Cranes and completing the job at night to minimise disruption and get the work done safely.

Whatever the challenge, our team will assess the site, plan every detail, and find the safest, most cost-effective way to meet your requirements.

Recently, the Treescape team had the privilege of completing the annual prune of The Bucket Tree — New Zealand’s Tree of the Year 2026.

Dating back to the 1850s, this remarkable macrocarpa (Hesperocyparis macrocarpa) in Tawa, Wellington, has been carefully shaped into its iconic upside-down bucket form since around 1879.

Each year, Treescape gets to carry out the specialist prune that maintains its unique shape and keeps this living sculpture looking its best.

We’re proud to play a part in caring for one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive trees. 🌳

Last Friday, our Hamilton Division put their emergency response skills to the test with a realistic, hands-on training session delivered by PracMed NZ

With no prior knowledge of what was coming, crews were split into groups of three or four and responded to three simulated incidents: two chainsaw injuries and a fall resulting in a compound fracture.

Volunteers wore realistic artificial wounds, requiring each group to assess the patient, make rapid decisions and control severe bleeding using only a tourniquet and an emergency trauma bandage.

The session gave our teams a valuable opportunity to practise staying calm under pressure and build the confidence to respond effectively when every second counts.

A big thank you to PracMed and everyone who took part in this important training.

Congrats to all winners and to everyone who competed.See you all in Rotorua!

How long have you worked at Treescape?
12 years

What areas of the country do you cover?
Waikato, Bay of Plenty, King Country, Coromandel

What is a typical day for you?
Managing staff, Project Managers, admins, fleet and finances, managing relationships and communicating with clients, customers, local councils, and everything in between.

What is the purpose of your job?
To provide a safe and healthy workplace, ensure all staff are compliant and qualified, managing budgets, fleet, people, finances and ensuring all clients and contracts are running as per requirement.

What has been the best day at TS and why?
Every day at The Scape is great but becoming Business Manager would be up there. Why? To make a change in the Waikato, BOP and King Country area. To put us back on the map with our talented staff in the HM division showcasing our specialist work - i.e Heli and crane. I also wanted to ensure we deliver top-notch arb work and lead with our safety and to make a difference in our Urban Forest and Vegetation management in all aspects.
