Building in Sydney’s east usually means months of disruption for the neighbours and trades going back and forth. Next to Anzac Parade, one of the busiest roads in the city, it’s harder again.

On this Kingsford job, the ground floor was being prepared on site while the first floor addition was being built in our Croydon factory. Both happened at the same time, so the street had a much shorter build to put up with.

The trades worked in one place, and the client could see it taking shape before it arrived.

From enquiry to design, every Keep Modular project starts with understanding what you want to achieve and whether the site, budget and approvals pathway can support it.

We begin with an initial conversation to understand your project, property, priorities and timeframe. From there, we move into feasibility, where we review the site, planning pathway, access, transport and crane considerations, and the overall viability of the project.

Your feasibility output gives you a clearer picture of what may be possible, including preliminary design direction, likely approvals pathway, project considerations and next steps.

Once feasibility is complete, we move into design developing the home in more detail, coordinating consultants, refining layouts, selections and documentation ready for approvals and construction.

Our aim is to give you clarity early, so you can make informed decisions before moving too far into the process.

DA or CDC. What’s the difference? 🏡

A CDC is a faster approval pathway for straightforward projects that meet all the required planning and building standards.

A DA is assessed by council and is generally needed when the property or design doesn’t meet the CDC requirements or requires further planning consideration.

5 things stay exactly the same. 1 thing doesn’t, and that one thing is the whole point.

Same materials. Same Building Code compliance. Same approvals process. Same finishes. Same inspections at every stage. No shortcuts, no different rulebook.

The one difference is where it’s built. In our factory, not on your block, which means we’re on your site for weeks, not months, with a fraction of the mess and disruption a traditional build brings.

A friend asked if we could crane a modular studio into his backyard. That was something we’d never even heard of.

That one question kicked off 2 years that changed everything. A factory in Alexandria that turned out to be way too small, a hard lesson about moving too fast, and a bigger factory in Croydon that opened the door to something we didn’t expect.

By 2023, the demand wasn’t in small spaces anymore. It was in solving a housing shortage of 3,000 homes a year. That’s when Keep Mini Spaces became Keep Modular.
