Two years on, this garden is still growing more beautiful.

Designed for a private residence, this secluded garden offers a peaceful place to slow down and spend quality time together. A nine-column waterfall flows into a tranquil pond, while lush greenery softens the stone and draws birds into the garden.

Wander between the columns, pause beside the water, look up at the sky and enjoy a little more time outdoors with family.

A pond does not begin with excavation. It begins with landscape composition.

I design ponds as an integral part of the garden. I determine their shape and depth, the direction of water movement, and the placement of rocks and plants. I also consider how the landscape will be viewed from inside the house, from the terrace, and while walking through the garden.

But an expressive design is not enough. For a pond to remain beautiful and function reliably for many years, its designer must understand the technical side of construction: waterproofing, filtration, water circulation, shoreline construction, and the correct placement of rocks.

That is why I not only design ponds but also build them together with my team. The creative vision and technical ex*****on remain in the same hands—from the first line of the concept to the moment the water begins to flow.

The photos show one of the ponds we created. Here, water, rocks, landform, and planting come together to form a layered landscape. It looks natural, but behind this natural appearance are precise calculations, construction experience, and careful attention to every detail.

Modern architecture works beautifully in contrast with a natural landscape.

Clean lines, minimalist forms, large glass surfaces and white walls create the perfect background for something softer, more organic and alive.

This is why natural and Japanese-inspired gardens work so well with contemporary homes: rocks, sculptural trees, grasses, water and free-form planting bring movement and depth to the architecture.

The house remains minimal and structured, while the landscape adds character, atmosphere and life.

We especially love this contrast:
the cleaner the architecture, the more expressive nature can become.

In the gardens we create, time slows down — and this is not accidental.

Landscape architecture can influence not only what we see, but how we experience a space.

Inside this grotto, the garden is deliberately revealed in fragments. Dark rock surrounds you, while openings frame selected views towards the landscape outside. Falling water creates another layer between you and the garden — you are looking at the landscape through a moving curtain of water.

The contrast between darkness and light, enclosure and openness, stillness and movement changes the way the eye reads the space. Instead of seeing the entire garden at once, you discover it gradually.

The sound of falling water further separates you from the outside world and draws your attention into the immediate moment.

This is how a garden becomes more than a view. It becomes an experience — one in which time seems to slow down.

How do you create a sense of depth in a garden?

Working with garden space is very similar to creating a composition in a painting.

There is a foreground, a main composition and a background. The difference is that we are not creating them on a flat surface — we are working with real, three-dimensional space.

In this garden, rounded plant forms create the foreground. The eye then moves towards the main composition and finally to the vertical lines of the trees in the background.

These layers create perspective. Your eye travels through the garden rather than immediately reaching its boundary, making the space feel deeper and more expansive.

If there were simply a lawn in the foreground with trees planted along the fence, the eye would immediately read the boundary of the property. Even a relatively large garden could visually feel smaller and flatter.

This is why landscape design is not only about what we plant and where. It is also about how we shape the way you experience and perceive the space.

Sometimes, creating a sense of space is not about having more space — it is about knowing how to work with the space you already have.

We love using one of the most beautiful principles of Japanese garden design: creating a garden as a sequence of living landscape scenes.

As you move through the space, every turn reveals a new composition. Every view is carefully considered, inviting you to slow down, pause, and simply enjoy the moment.

We believe this is where the true value of a garden begins — not only in how it looks, but in how it makes you feel.
