It was a labour of love for the Penrose community in the Southern Highlands to see this Community Village Hall come to life.

A modest design for a modest community.
There were countless hours donated by both the community and consultants to see this from inception to design, approvals and construction.

New Hanwood Sports Oval Amenities completed for Griffith City Council.

The central breezeway creates a sense of connection between the 2 ovals, with a centralized commercial canteen and direct connections from the 2 ovals to functional unis*x changes rooms, single s*x bathrooms as well as accessible and referee facilities.

A light, bright and functional amenities block sitting modestly within nature was a very welcome addition for this community.

Mood Board for a new Euro Inspired coffee bar, reinterpreted for a contemporary setting.

Fluted cognac tiles, warm american walnut, brushed natural brass and rich upholstery are layered to create an inviting tactile environment that reflects the warmth of coffee while providing the durability of a high-traffic hospitality setting.

Dark bronze - The quiet structural element
Natural brass - The jewellery of the space; only where people touch or notice it
American Walnut - Warmth and craftmanship
Fluted wall tile - Durability and texture
Cognac leather and upholstery - Comfort, texture and nod to coffee
Cream Corian - Visual relief and brightness
Subtle marble look checkerboard - A nod to the retro euro cafe without becoming theatrical or too busy.

Layered with wainscoting, feature lights and artwork to finish it all off.

This steeply sloping site presented quite the design challenge with council.
We absolutely loved watching this unique Bundeena house design come to fruition.

18months on and my clients are still loving their new hallway, flooring and kitchen. The transformation morphed from a dark dim crowded space into a light and bright functional new heart of the home 🏠
