Our favourite day of the week !! North Head is getting close to the finish line⚡️

Another huge milestone reached, with all civil works, cable hauling, cable tray installations and submain reticulation now complete. The project is now awaiting switchboard delivery and the scheduled Ausgrid outage before we can complete the final installation, testing and commissioning.

Proud of the team’s effort on this one, stay tuned for the final switchboard install and energisation. 👊

Another big week on site at North Head delivering critical electrical infrastructure upgrades for the NSW Government. ⚡️

This week the team completed major cable hauling and cable tray installation works, including:

• Installation of new 240mm² XLPE consumer mains, with all cables now terminated and ready at the Ausgrid substation for the upcoming outage.
• New 400A direct distributor from the Ausgrid substation to the new Main Switchboard.
• Approximately 200m of new 400A submains installed beneath the roadway to the new Main Distribution Board.
• Infrastructure now in place to energise three new 160A Distribution Boards servicing the mechanical services, commercial kitchen, and general lighting & power.

From civil works through to Level 1 & Level 2 ASP services and commercial electrical infrastructure, this project highlights the capability of the DM Electrical team from start to finish.

A huge effort from the boys once again!! The project is progressing well, and we’re looking forward to the upcoming Ausgrid outage and commissioning.

⚡ Major Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade Complete ⚡

Another complex infrastructure project successfully delivered by the DM Electrical team.

This site presented a number of challenges, with the existing installation consisting of an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) arrangement fed directly from 2 × 800A Ausgrid supplies from separate substations.

The original installation had several critical issues, including:
• No Service Protection Devices (SPDs) protecting the incoming supplies.
• No isolation point for safe maintenance on the Main Switchboard (MSB) downstream.
• An incomplete original installation.
• Essential services supplied via an unmetered arrangement.

Our scope involved a 16-hour planned shutdown to safely remove the existing ATS Main Switchboard and install a brand-new system while maintaining the integrity of the building’s electrical infrastructure.

The upgrade included:
⚡ New ATS Main Switchboard
⚡ 2 × 800A incoming circuit breakers complete with Service Protection Devices (SPDs)
⚡ 3 × 630A outgoing circuit breakers supplying the existing Essential, Non-Essential and Unmetered Tenant switchboards
⚡ 2 × new CT metering compartments with new utility metering for the site
⚡ Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) for seamless changeover to the secondary Ausgrid supply in the event of a loss of Supply 1
⚡ Extensive internal busbar modifications to integrate the new switchboard with the existing electrical distribution system.

A highly technical project requiring detailed planning, precise ex*****on and flawless coordination to complete within the shutdown window.

Another big week in the books for the DM Electrical team.

✔️ Commissioning of 3 Westfield sites

June looked a little like this⚡️

A month packed with electrical infrastructure upgrades, Level 1 & Level 2 ASP works, commercial fit-outs, civil works, and high-end electrical installations across Sydney.

A successful week on site, a questionable recap from the boys.

Big week across two major projects for the DM team.

📍 North Head

All civil and underground infrastructure works are now complete, including trenching, duct installation, cable hauling, backfilling and reinstatement. A great milestone achieved as we move closer to the next stage of the electrical upgrade.

📍 Mona Vale Hospital

Over 400 metres of 95mm² XLPE along with essential and non-essential supplies have now been installed beneath multiple buildings as part of the hospital infrastructure upgrade. The team has worked through complex existing services and live environments to keep the project progressing safely and on schedule.

Another huge effort from the crew delivering critical electrical and civil infrastructure works across both sites.
