BUILDING WITH FRIENDS

What an honour it was to build with our best friend, Gabriel, transforming his compact split-level penthouse apartment atop the iconic Harry Seidler ‘Aquarius’ building in Elizabeth Bay.

Gabriel saw what others couldn’t, when he acquired the rundown site during Covid a few years ago. But his commitment to creating a multifunctioning home and rooftop garden oasis within a 39sqm GFA was inspiring to witness. Together with Nick Gurney who devised the perfect floorplan and joinery package, we got to work with demolition and managing the flooring, cabinetry, kitchen and bathroom fitout with Gabriel. To achieve a seamless floor to ceiling microcement finish in the bathroom, we lent on Jack from to create a complete wet zone, using microtopping.

Building with Gabriel on his midcentury inspired home was rewarding beyond words, especially now that we get to enjoy it too.

WOOLLAHRA APARTMENT TRANSFORMATION

This renovation was completed in.... 4 months!
Only for special clients ;)

Internal works included a full strip out, renovation and configuration to some interior walls to improve flow. New oak flooring, exposed ceiling framing with champagne-coloured quartzite and Alpi Verdi marble achieve a clean and light north-facing space.

The family room, drenched in ‘Resene Decadence,’ is known as The Blue Room, inspired by Yves Klein’s ‘Blue’ series. “The colour felt like you could melt into it, and I wanted to recreate that same sinking sensation here,” says our wonderful client, Carla.
