We're really excited to share some fantastic news—Superyard has partnered with BOWER Reuse & Repair Centre!

This collaboration has been in the works since Nathan Smith, GM of The Bower, invited us to speak about Superyard at their Festival of Repair. During our many chats, it became clear how much our missions aligned—we both believe in the power of reuse and repair to positively impact both the environment and communities in need.

From that conversation, we started exploring how we could work together, and now here we are! Through this partnership, The Bower will be able to scale its services beyond its physical locations, using Superyard to connect people across a much larger region with surplus building materials, furniture, and household items.

This is more than just reducing waste; it’s about creating a circular economy that benefits everyone. I’m proud that Superyard is helping The Bower extend its reach and mission to a broader community and excited to see where this journey takes us.

We're proud to announce our collaboration with Moreton Bay Recycling, bringing recycled construction materials to our marketplace. This partnership aims to make it super easy for businesses to source and inquire about materials with recycled content—all from one easy-to-use online platform.

By exposing vendors of recycled materials through Superyard, we’re simplifying access to sustainable resources, empowering construction projects to reduce waste, and supporting the circular economy.

Wow, this was an unexpected and pleasant surprise!

Superyard has been selected by Economic Development Australia Limited as a Finalist in the 2024 National Economic Development Awards for Excellence in the category of Sustainability and Energy Transition.

Being acknowledged alongside so many other incredible organisations working to propel the economy (and in our case, the circular economy) forward is an honour.

There are many economic and social benefits to circular practices and we're chuffed to be nominated. Here's to all the social enterprises and circular economy-based businesses making an impact!

Can you believe it? Superyard is turning two, and this is a quick happy dance about the impact we’ve made in our short life.

In our first year, we focused on getting members on board, gathering feedback, and refining our platform. This past year, we’ve been busy making things happen. We’ve partnered with amazing organizations, redistributing 30 tons of building materials from the Melbourne Cup Carnival and a major Sydney film set to community groups.

We’re also became a certified Social Enterprise, validating our commitment to sustainability and social impact. Most recently, we’ve launched innovative pilot programs with councils and major construction players to reduce procurement costs and promote the effective reuse of materials.

We're not just "still here"... it's gratifying to be actively involved in the construction and sustainability space, and have such awesome advocates and supporters of what we do. It's a truly collaborative journey.
