The design was shaped around the steep rural site, with the home positioned on the most elevated part of the land to make the most of uninterrupted views towards the ocean.

Taking on a modern farmhouse aesthetic, the home is broken into three distinct pavilions, creating a clear separation between private and shared living spaces. The steep gabled roof forms also respond to the Australian east coast setting, helping maximise rainwater collection while giving the home a strong rural character.

We’ve loved being part of this project and can’t wait to see construction begin.

A really rewarding project to design and one I’m excited to see come to life.

Birchgrove | Demolition Progress

Demolition is now well underway at our Birchgrove waterfront project, with the existing structure being carefully dismantled to make way for two thoughtfully designed homes.

One of the biggest challenges on this site is the significant amount of sandstone that needs to be excavated and removed before construction can begin. A huge thank you to Rick Davis Contracting for their expertise and hard work in tackling this complex stage of the project.

With a site like this, every stage requires careful planning and coordination—from demolition and excavation through to managing the steep site, protecting the surrounding properties, and preparing the foundations for what’s to come.

We can’t wait to bring this vision to life and share the transformation over the coming months. Stay tuned as this incredible harbour-side project starts to take shape.

Designing this space was all about getting the balance right.

We wanted the kitchen to feel like the true heart of the home—somewhere you could cook, entertain and still be part of every conversation. Creating an open kitchen, dining and living space that felt connected without becoming one big room was something we spent a lot of time refining.

The end result is a space that feels open, warm and made for everyday living. 🤍
